Hi everyone,
About 12 weeks ago I turned over in bed and thought I had torn a muscle in my knee, it was horrendously painful and even though I went to work i was really useless. went to the docs after one week descibed the agony and how unbearable goin down the stairs was, she just suggest some ibuferon. It was getting better when I recieved a letter to visit orthapedic specialist, who xrayed me and told me the devasting news that my knees are that of an 85 yr old, and the bones have moved away in a butterfly effect. I am 54! That the carteledge has completely worn away in both of my kness and almost completely gone in my hips, that he does not know how I am walking and that I must be in excrutiating pain, there should be no more stairs for me and I can rupture my muscles very easily, just by moving my head to the side. I have had it for 15 years, and although always full of aches and painsbut just got on, Reiki im sure has helped me oodles.
He siad he would like to give me two new knees but unfortunately I have just been diagnosed with diabetes 2 and have verypoor circulation in my legs so that is now out of the question because of risks of infection
Please can anyone offer me a glimmer of hope, as my future looks very bleak.
Think it is genetic as my brother and mother had the same and suffered very badly
Love and light

RE: feel very scared of diagnosis

Orchid, try not to view the diagnosis so bleakly. Doctors always have to tell you the worst case scenario to cover their own backs, but even having such a debilitating condition as yours doesnt mean that life is over for you yet! If reiki helps you, then keep using it, and do lots of research on other natural and orthodox treatemnts which could help you.

I really feel for you, and wish I could be of more help

Claire x

RE: feel very scared of diagnosis

Orchid - you will panic at first - and the diagnosis will take over your life. Just let it for a whils - and then take charge again. Accept that you have health problems and the Dr diagnosis - and then ignore them - start gentle exercising - as in Yoga, swimming and start experiencing life. It really doeas work.
My husband has Christmas Disease, Hep C and CJD - and does it stop him - NO. We.ve just retired to islle of Wight and hes working on the house like a youngster. I was diagnosed with a spinal disease 18months ago and told I was heading for life in a wheelchair. I sat around, doing nothing, brooding about the constant pain - and yes, it took over my life. I then thought - SOD IT - its my life and I'm going to enjoy it. I've srubbed our new house from top to bottom, something I haven't been able to do for years, and yesterday I walked a good 2 miles, at speed, down to the sea and back. I've never felt better. Yes, i get pain, but I know what the cause is, how to treat it - and just get on with it. Try it;);)

[sm=hug.gif]ORCHID.

ask your gp about ZALOGINATE you take a calcium tablet every day then you have a blood test taken at the end of the month, if you have enough calcium in your body , you have a drip put into your hand for half an hour which is the zaloginate, this is classed as a wonder for women and men who have weak bones , it pushes the calcium into the bones which make the bone stronger it also puts a coating on the bone,
it is a good pain killer because it protects the bones,
my husband had it with the cancer it did help him, i asked if i could have it instead of having to take HRT, every day. they to;d me because my bones werent as weak aas someone elses they coouldnt do iy, but its cheaper in the long run, just ask your gp to refer you to see if it will work for you. good luck

take care

RE: feel very scared of diagnosis

[sm=wave.gif]Thank you all so much for your kind advice and inspiration.
I am trying hard to cope with the pain and debility.
Attuned to Reiki level 3, a couple of months ago, but finding it difficult to self heal at the moment, just finishing VTCT in body massage, though giving some one a massage floors me,was hoping to attain other qualifications this year, have Reflexology and Indian Head and was looking forward to working as a therapist. now I wonder if that will be poss.
I am unable to do my job as a support worker as working with challenging young people would be unable to catch em [sm=cry.gif]you really need to be fit, so am off sick on stauary sick pay, which is very scary.[sm=hidesbehindsofa.gif]

However must be possitive and put my trust in the Divine that all this is meant to happen to show me the right pathI am meant to be walking or hobbling[sm=jump1.gif]

I do so love HP and all the wonderful, interesting, amazingly clever and kind people that share [sm=grouphug.gif]

RE: feel very scared of diagnosis

Orchid, i had similar problems a couple of years ago...

The problem lies in one's diet. I made drastic changes and gained my health back!
I quit all animal products, fried food, caffeine, tobacco, carbonated drinks, alcohol, and white sugar. It really does work!

Chemical drugs will only worsen your condition. I've been through alot that's why i'm so sure about what i'm saying...

Hi,

With all physical problems I always recommend taking the holistic approach as well as the very good advice you have been given on herbal supplements. Think about the analogy of the mind, emotions, and body. When a joint starts to get stiff and not move too well it could be a sign that you are being maybe a little rigid about something in your life, and the part of the body affected may give you a clue as to what.

I can say this now, because it happened to me. My knees have been quite painful - now knees are what you use when you kneel down to pray. I don't spend much time doing that asI meditate usually seated, but the general message I get is that I must learn humility, I've been far too self important and proud in the past. Its a big lesson and one that I'm still working on. Now I'm wondering if you can relate to this at all.

I can remember going to the Mind Body and Spirit Festival many years ago and a lady gave me a chakra reading and mentioned my knees, many years before they started to give me a problem. She said that in a past life I had spent a long time in prayer (I know I've gone off track a bit), but I see our past lives and present as teachers.

I do hope the knees are not quite so painful. My regime for knees and joints has been glucosomine/chondroitin, fish oils. Plus some massage as I'm an aromatherapist with juniperberry, lemon, lavender, sweet marjoram, or rosemary. The healing is of great help too.

I believe you can come through these painful times and I believe Reiki healing can help you transform on all levels - at the moment my knees are good, even through the damp weather.

Luv Binah
x

Hi
thank you Binah, I have thought it perhaps it could be tellling me something about my personality, or something has to change in my life, perhaps Im not really sure.

Im still off work, and awaiting for MRI scan as specialist thinks I may have damaged my knee further as I was attacked and badly kicked at work.
At the time I was in a panic as I am not sure I should have been at work because I was hobbling along with arthritus, but my company only pay statuary sick pay, so I was really worried about my living expenses. I did ask if I could work with with easier clients on my back to work interview, with the principle and was shocked and devasted by her stiff retort telling me if I wasnt fit to work with any one she chose to put me with.... I was not fit to work! She would make no allowances for me, which I dont think is legal. Anyway have been off for three months now. I am waiting for them to call me in and am so glad I am in the union

I really think this has happened for a reason and Im hoping to develop my mobile service for reflexology and Reki further Please God if its meant to be

Im glad your in good health at the moment and I really believe Reiki is wonderful, I have been taking the same suppliments,

Take care
Warm wishes
Orchid xx

Hi Orchid - Binah beat me to it! I agree with taking glucosomine and fish oil - it has helped me too. Reiki too is a great help. I think you are working for a most uncaring person in a caring profession!

Love and Light
