I'm a 21 yr old healthy female, around 4months ago i woke one day with pain in my knees and elbow's, 2 days later every joint in my body (bar my hips and spine) was extremely painfull but i felt fine in myself so i went to the docs and they took blood test for RA, this came back clear so i got sent home, and told to come back in a week if it's still bad. The pain eased in certain joints but still bad in my shoulder's and finger's, so i went back to the docs, he told me this time to take a week intense course of painkillers to dull it down so much it might stop (this didn't make any sense to me but did it anyway) it didn't help so a week later i went back to the docs, they don't have any ideas so they have referred me, this was about 2month ago and i have heard nothing. I now have pain in my wrists, fingers and also my feet, it's not always painfull but always achey, it's painfull to squeeze toothpaste and to undo lids ect, Doe's anybody have any suggestions to help with the pain as it's getting fustrating now.

Thankyou for any suggestions you can make.

Could it be you've had an intestinal infection recently (see my thread on Reactive Arthritis).
All the best,

Hi Morgan. Sorry I don't know what it is but it sounds horrible (I was going to say a right pain!). I do have some kind of arthritis (osteo in my legs they reckon) but if it is that it doesn't bother me all the time. However I posted because I do get times when I have what I just call an 'attack' where the pain is in my knees and elbows really powerfully and then can be in my hands too. (I refer to it as the little people smashing at me with their hammers!). It rang a bell because of where you said it was occurring for you. Not sure if this will be of any help but may I suggest looking at your diet, maybe keeping a food diary and checking out a book called the PH Miracle by Robert Young. I have found definitely that there are certain things that aggravate it like coffee, wine, products made with flour etc. At other times my body can cope with these in moderation. Keep asking Morgan. Don't give up x

It's possibly related to your diet. avoid foods such as yoghurt, vinegar, citrus fruit, tomatoes, red meat, potatoes, alcohol and caffeine. Herbal remedies include tinctures of Black cohosh and ginger root. More esoteric treatments include 'cupping' and magnet therapy

You may at least ease pain without painkilles and in many cases
affect the source of a problem if do Su-jok therapy for joints
using the standard correspondence system on palm even yourself.
Schemes can be found in Internet also, with more or less detailed
descriptions.

It could well be food related and so as others have said keep a food diary. A good book to get to cleanse your body is the food doctor diet. It isnt just to lose weight but his diet does help people with potemnhealth problems.

A good supplement to take for general health and especially anything suspect of arthritis is apple cider vinegar. It has amazing properties and has helped a lot of my clients I see. get the organic unfiltered unpasteurised stuff from any good health food shop and start my taking a tablespoon 3 x day. It is horrid stuff but if you take it with warm water and a little honey you soon get used to it. Once you are used to it up the dose.
