hello everyone,
first i'd like to say im so sorry you are going through such a hard time allergies. I do too and have remained un responsive to ALL treatmennts at this time. I wont go into it here as this isnt about me i have a seperate post thats already been up for a few months . What i am asking on here is because I had seen some fantastic advice but dont know what somethings mean . I am from the USA and some of the terminology or even products used may be called something different . so ppl like myself get confused . And even if thats NOt the case some people tend to use just Abbreviated words for a technique and there I am again scratching my head .. Heres what Id like to know if someone could clarify as its mentione here in this thread: What does Hoover mean? Im assuming it means "sweeping the floor with a broom". What is Bicarbonate soda? Is that baking soda? Someone emntioned u put that in the wash. Id like to try that if thats the case but need be sure what it is. and the Hoovering thing wehre i assume it is sweeping the floor . I totally agree that just stirs up the dust. No-one mentioned a good vaccum. I actually use a SHOPVAC.. which has triple the sucking power of any normal vacuum cleaner and get's deep in groved areas vacuums cannot. (using hose attatchment) I have olf farm house which has wide floor boarding and the moron that layed the flooring there are actually little gaps inbewteen each board which dust and dirt LOOOOOOOOOOOOOves to go into. i used to get down on hands and knee's and sweep them out with tiny brush (had failed back surgery to boot not too cool) to try keep dust and dirt down in home . then finally after a year of doing that , I broke out my shop vac and instantly and effortlessly everythging was sucked right out . I even cleaned there just 2 days before that and soo much come out . So I myself would advise a SHOPVAC. they are cheap also and u can line the inside so when u empty u just grab bag and toss it out . they even have specail liners for allergy sufferers. ShopVacs can be found at almost any hardware store . Or any Large retail store wehe they sell all sorts of things

When I started nursing (many, many moons ago!) the first thing we were taught was how to sweep a wooden floor. We had to collect used (damp) tealeaves from the kitchen and sprinkle them across the floor, then we had to sweep the dust into a line, sweeping the line across the floor so it was all covered. The damp tealeaves collected all the dust, and it actually made a good job! Not many people use loose tea these days, but it wouldn't cost much to buy a packet and soak them - much better than the chemical route!

Having said that, all the other suggestions are good, especially EFT to reduce the stresses, but may I suggest she makes sure she has enough essential oils in her diet - fish oil and either evening primrose oil or starflower oil. These oils are essential to the functioning of the body and can reduce both stress levels and eczema. Not only that, they boost your brain power!

All the best

Caroline

PS Snakelady - a Hoover is a type of vacuum cleaner over here, and I presume baking soda is the same as bicarbonate of soda - have a look at the label. I've not heard of Shopvac in UK.

Hi beautystudent. Maybe your sister could try Reiki. It works for my allergies to dust and pollen. My Reiki master told me that allergies are due to fear (maybe anxiety?).

Hello, do you think laminate flooring would stain easily using this method? Suppose could try one corner first.

When the immune system is weak and compromised, allergies can set in so I would also look to stengthening the immune system, perhaps working with the energy field to cleanse it and detox it.

There may also be emotional aspects to the allergy, and of course stress is a major culprit in dis-ease so I would look to reducing the stress I was under.
