Trusting information from spirit guide

Hi, I have only most recently been able to receive messages from spirit and my spirit guide. A common fear among other mediums is trusting what you receive. I thought I recieved a message from spirit saying my husband is going to pass at the London marathon he’s taking part in at the end of April, I was not actively engaging with spirit at this time, and I am wondering if this is just my own insecurity in my mind - would spirit really tell me this!?! Knowing how heartbreaking it is. I’m obviously really shaken and confused.
