Hi my name is Kerry and I am a new therapist on Healthy Pages.
Just thought I would take the time to say Hi. No doubt I will be adding to the already amazing blogs that happen on this site. Let me know what topics you would like to read about?
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Hi Kerry and welcome to this forum.
Since you ask what topics we would like to read about and you are a naturopathy, I am baffled by what nitrates in food does to the body found in beetroot, spinach and celery for instance. Take beetroot for instance - their link to nitrates is that they help with blood flow and blood pressure, however they also have a worrying link to the carcinogenic. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies nitrates and nitrites as "probably carcinogenic to humans" Both nitrates and nitrites can form nitrosamines in the body, which can increase your risk of developing cancer. What do you know on this, i.e. what does the ability of nitrates to turn into carcinogens depend on?
Also, a more simple question - red peppers are said to be inflammatory to the body yet they are high in Vit C - an ANTI inflammatory!
