With no smell, no definitely not alcohol.

Alcohol will help the spray dissipate, purified or distilled water may work but will need a good shaking to work. What are you trying to achieve from doing this? A nice smell? In which case dabbing a small amount undiluted on an unintrusive speck of material will also work.

Highly distilled grain alcohol or witch hazel. Believe it or not some people recommend high grade of vodka.
