hiya, I just read this on the BBC news site, it seems a few HP'ers have already come down with this bug, I hope you all manage to fight it off quickly

It's spread across the water too Amy, we have a few off work with it at the moment, plus bad flu going here too. Healing thoughts to all who are ill with these bugs.
Love & blessings,
Rachel
I'm dreading the kids going back to school because bugs like this spread like wildfire, and i have a fear of being sick so live in a state of anxiety!:(

I think I caught a part of it and had diarrohea instead and took me a week to feel normal again and just before Christmas. I've also got a fear of vomiting - called emetophobia! not been sick in 10 years! and dread these winter bugs. Not sure how I will cope when our baby starts nursery/primary school.

Hi Calla lily
You and I have mentioned this before about our fear of vomit haven't we.
I work in a hospital and asked the infection control team how to avoid such things and they say it is not breathed in as I thought it might be, but transferred by touching something an infected person has touched then eating something thereby passing it on. If there is an outbreak on a ward all chocs and fruit have to be removed.
The most sensible thing of course is wash you hands thoroughly before eating.
Whenever I have used the toilet at work, after washing my hands, I always take a paper towel and open the door handle with that, then discard. So many people don't bother to wash their hands and they are going to touch that door handle......eek!!
Without sounding fanatical, which of course I am, just think of all the hand rails you probably touch in one day.
Yes, we have Orangeblossom, i remember our discussion well.:)
I'm glad i'm not the only one who 'covers up' when using public toilets, as i do the same. On the very rare occasion where i use Supermarket's toilets, it disgusts me when i see people who don't wash their hands, and the mere thought of them touching produce turns my stomach ...BLEEURRGGHHH!
I was always under the impression sickness bugs were airborne, so thanks for clarifying Orangeblossom.:)
Heaven~spirit, i've not been sick since 1994 and i will always suffer each and every time even if i know being sick will make me feel better LOL! Strangely enough, i can cope with my children being sick, but not myself-weird isn't it?!

Me too. My baby has always been a sicky one, with his milk and even solids, as he has reflux. I am totally fine with it and more concerned about his well-being.
Interesting too about what orangeblossom said about bugs not being air-borne, makes me feel some relief.
