Just wondering...how many half finished projects to people have hanging about.
I started painting the bathroom last week...had to break off for work but intended to finish yesterday...and nope not touched it.
Have two on line courses to complete, which I started last year.
No end of craft projects started with good intentions then get fed up.
Lost count of how many books which are half read.
Start some gardening....and the barrow gets left half full (although lets face it, gardening is a never ending cycle)
Usually ironing left in the bottom of the basket from one month to the next .
Even cups of tea, started.....then end up drinking them cold.
Sure there must a be a character "type" for all these starts and no "ends"
i should take a leaf from Mastermind..as in "I've started so I'll finish"!!..
Just wish I could start bag of crisp or chocolate bar, and start it and not finish too 😀
sighs....
It would be easier to name projects that I have finished rather than ones that get abandoned.
I remember reading an NLP book years ago to solve my motivation issues which I got stuck on. I think I even posted here about it. I can't remember the exact question, but the book asked the reader to think of a task that wasn't in itself particularly enjoyable, but which would be carried out because of the reward. I couldn't think of a single thing. To this day I still can't think of an example of doing something motivated by the potential end result.
If I don't enjoy the process of something, I very, very rarely finish it.
I've always wished I could finish things, but I remember one of my primary school teachers telling me I need to get things finished, so this has been a life-long issue for me.
