I have always been inclined to insomnia, from when I was young. Any excuse, and I lie awake. I had to give up a job for that reason - nothing else helped. I now go for a walk every evening, which does improve things. These days it is not so bad - I am seventy and I don't have to get up, which is always better. Worrying about that alarm makes it worse.
But still, very often I spend a lot of the nighttime hours reading. Except, I have noticed lately, when the moon waxes! In the fortnight when that happens, I generally sleep well. And when the moon wanes, it's back to the old ways - anything will keep me awake, be it food, or drink, or lack of it, excitement, watching tv without my blueblocker glasses, anything at all.
Have other people noticed this effect?
That is the first time I hear about that
I just did a quick google search and found this

This article says the full moon affects sleep, but with me it is the direction of the moon, the waxing or waning. Mind you, I have only noticed it recently, maybe I got more sensitive - my sense of smell is stronger too, due I think to yoga and possibly meditation.
I fight the same issue. Excerise, no sugar, and meditation helps. Sleep is and has always been a battle..
Good old sleep..please be my friend. Lol

Have a look at my blog issue about sleep, at http://thoughtforfood-aw.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/april-2015-insomnia.html . Might have some tips or sites which are useful, you never know. xA.
Sleep is nirvana. Sleeplessness is unsettledness.
Do you feel the repercussions of not resting well, the next morning?
Settle more and more in your being. Relax more and more, breathe nicely nad more nicely. It does not need meditations. Meditation is subtle tension in itself, the subtlest kind of tension. Relaxing into your being is effortless.
Don't make it a problem. Because then you are obliged to solve it, that's the dynamic. Don't learn new tips. Because I bet you already know loads...enough to write a blog yourself!
Sleepless is rooted in effort. I must sleep, must get a good rest, I must prepare well....so many conditions. Subtle tensions.
Drop the agenda to sleep well. Allow the energy of sleeplessness. Allowing is effortless. Everything else is a mountain to cross. That's what keeps people awake that they think they have to do something, learn and apply techniques, do it just right, make no mistakes, then ideas of success and failure get attached to it. What a lot of din, how can one sleep?!
Allow sleeplessness, relax into that energy, soon You will Find you are sleeping through a rave
