Hi Guys - could anyone recommend a good brand of portable massage bed and where to get one - need to buy a good practical one but for a reasonable price. Found a good website that seem to have a good selection at discounted prices, but thought I'd see what you thought 1st. Thank you for any assistance.
Hi Mistry Girl,
You need to look at the key factors when buying a massage couch...
You say 'portable' so that indicates you're going to want to move it about... so you'll need to consider the weight of the couch. Some of them can be quite heavy to carry, even in a case with a shoulder strap, and especially if you are going to have to carry up stairs etc. so, what you'll generally find is that the lighter the couch, the more expensive it becomes, and the wooden frames ones are typically the heavier ones while the alloy metal ones can be the lighter.
You're also going to have to consider your budget. You can get a reasonable couch for, say, £150, but it won't be the lightest, or you could spend £800 plus and get something really light and portable. So how much can you afford? and can you work the cost into your business plan so that it pays back for itself in a reasonable time?
One of the key things when you narrow down your list of couches will be to look up reviews of them. There are some that may claim great things and make out to be light, but may not last very long if they're frequently used, whilst others may seem more basic, but actually offer greater durability.
If money is no object then starlight couches are renouned for being good quality and some of the lightest you can buy...

They're not cheap, but they last well, and in a variety of styles and plenty of available accessories.

Hi MG
Starlights are really light but soooo expensive. My old one brokedown a couple of weeks ago after years of faith service, but couldn't effort to replace it. So I went for a Porta Lite Delta II PORTA-LITE DELTA I 10.3kg It's a really nice couch. But be careful of many of these portable couches, they are too heavy for regular portable work. "Fold down 'n' tuck-a-way" would be a better description. A lot of them are 17kgs plus the weight of your other gear, and that's quite a lot to move a round. The lighter you go, the less injuries you will get.
Best wishes
