Our land line has been disconnected due to an overdue bill and the internet is next to go,I will have to use internet cafes in Town and that will be a nightmare,I tried to make an arrangement with them but with no money coming in its impossible to keep.:( Feeling really sad now :(,will look into mobile broadband later today.
Oh that's a shame! Money is tight for a lot of people just now and it just becomes so hard to keep everything going. You're not alone!
I use mobile broadband. I don't have a landline - to be honest because I'm abroad for part of the year and then back here for the rest I just can't justify the cost of having a landline. I just use my UK mobile or Skype while I'm here and I used my foreign mobile and Skype when I'm abroad for calls.
As for when I'm abroad we don't have a landline in the house we rent there because its just too expensive. I had one in our previous place and obviously used it for internet access as well - the costs were horrendous in the end and we hardly made calls from it.
However last year I was using a wireless connection abroad - mostly at work - but this year things are going to change. We can't pick up on the wireless signal from the house so if I can't find a solution it may mean I have to give in and get a landline in again.
Check out the mobile broadband - it may be worth it for now.
Got the mobile broadband O2 and had a trial run and it is working so well,the modem cost 19.95 and 20 euro credit lasts a month,I have an outstanding bill with my landline for 632 euro so yes it is a rip off.Not been on here for a few days I was starting to have withdrawl symptoms.:D

Hey Star, sorry to hear this, the s*@t really does have to have hot the fan over there. I have a good fried who works for one of the kids cancer charities in the south and they are finding it really hard at the moment to get the money they need.
Theses things go in cycles, sunshine is just around the corner
My boss at work is Irish and has told me how bad the financial situation is in Ireland at the moment so I sympathise with you.

I didn't realise that Ireland was suffering so much in the recession. Last time I was there the Celtic Tiger was roaring its head off. Just goes to show what a rollercoaster we're all on.
Yes it is unbelievable here at the moment the banks get bailed out and the taxpayer has to foot the bill,for AngoIrish Bank alone the price is approx 20,000 per person for the next year in income tax.Our Health servce is a disgrace,the celtic tiger is truly gone.

There can be some lovely internet cafes out there- it might be nice to make one your base- a change of scene may be a good thing?
Dongles are good too- or if you have a friend with wifi perhaps they would let you jump on- or even a neighbour and you could make a contribution towards costs- do a free treatment kind of thing?

The internet cafe in my area is small and dingy and costs 2 euro an hour,i also like to be on here at night ...with respect I could not make a donation to anything at moment,mobile broadband is the best option at moment.

Alot of people are in the same situation as yourself, i am with bt at the moment but not for long they are a right rip off,
is it any wonder im thinking of moving to America to live.
