Special alert to alternative therapists
If you are an alternative/complementary health therapist working in the UK, be warned. If you know any alternative therapists, please make sure they get this message:
An independent TV production company is contacting alternative therapists to appear in a programme they are preparing for Channel 4.
In their pitch, they will tell you it is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and practice. It’s not; it’s a stitch-up.
In fact, the programme’s title is ‘Health Freaks on Trial’, and you will be interrogated by a panel of four doctors who will belittle your work.
Don’t be fooled: say no.
Please spread the word!

Not good... I saw this in my FB feed so have shared with those that I know too.
I wouldn't be surprised. The media often chooses the most wacky therapist/healer to dug their own pit, or discredit straighter therapists with a team of scientific "experts" to find a weak link to pull apart.
Ch4 did a programme once with Richard Dawkins slagging off CAM, in which the good Professor for Public Understanding of Science condemned therapies like Ayurveda illegitimate as it was developed at a time when Germ Theory wasn't known. So 1000+ years of empirical observation was dismissed as it obviously doesn't comply to his world view. Then he had the cheek at the end to state the scientists are honest and decent people looking after the needs of others (paraphrased), as he walking along a lab in a bright white coat. In other public arenas that would be described as propaganda!!
Not that I have problem with science and have great respect for scientific inquiry, but when it becomes political and religious in it's outlook and rigs the game to their favour, I personally wouldn't participate a TV programme.
It's sad that people can do this to others just so they can pull up an interesting show. Is this really true? I didn't receive any warnings about it and just read it here.

Is there any mention of the production company dealing with this? Channel 4 don't make the programmes, but they commission them - if there is mention of a production company, then people can contact them direct to protest.
