Hi all, sorry to hear you were all ill, I also succumbed to this on Boxing Day evening and I'm still off work. It just seems to hang on and I really can't shake it off yet. We were supposed to go to Paris for a mini break after Christmas but we've postponed it. Loads of people I know have also been down with it, daughter included. OH has managed to escape so far though.

It just leaves you feeling pretty low with no appetite, I could do with a pick-me-up of sorts. I haven't felt like reading so I've just been staring at the TV:mad:.

Hope we all get better soon.

Love

A bottle of single malt should do the trick.

I can recommend glenphroaig.

Exactly, Sue! And it morphs. Mine started out as hint of sore throat/sniffles and then evolved into a dreadful cough. Along the way I've had nausea (the throwing up kind), aches, pains and general debility, lack of appetite, diarrhoea....and it just won't go.

So I'm thinking of all my fellow sufferers and sending a big hug - and hoping that those of you who have escaped will remain healthy.

xxxx

Hiya Sunny, yes, that is exactly how I have felt and in that sort of order. Today, my legs are aching, like I have been running up thousands of stairs, can't understand it.

Prashna, I like the idea of your pick-me-up, unfortunately the thought of anything alcoholic makes me feel queasy, now I really must be ill ........

I wanted to try to go back to work today but OH basically told me to stay put and I think he's right. I wouldn't be much good to anyone. Problem is, there is no-one to cover me while I'm away so I don't know what I'll be going back to.

Love

Our family was really ill just before and after Christmas and I was just praying for us all to be healthy. Our son turned one and was not well on his birthday ended up taking him to A&E in the evening - turned out to have an upper respiratory infection. I was not well, sick with sinusites and then a diarrohea bug. My parents came over from South Africa and my dad had bronchitis - so off to the GP for some antibiotics. My parents are now with my sister in London and my mom is severely sick with bronchitis and they fly home on Sunday. To top it all off, I am coming down again with my fourth bout of sinusites this year. I've never known a winter when everyone has been so ill. Not just ourselves but a lot of my friends as well.

Hope 2008 is much healthier year for us all ! and warmer too.

OK.

How about this, then.

Fresh ginger, finely chopped.
A few lemon slices freshly squeezed

Sugar or honey if you must

Very hot tea without milk

Infuse

Drink.

Jump about if necessary with a hanky soaked in Olbas Oil.

Well to buck the trend. Our family were all fit and well over the Christmas period thank the Lord. You make so many arrangements over that period don't you and it is very disappointing and upsetting if you have to cancel not to mention feeling disgusting.

Maybe ours is to come, I hope not. By the way I have a 'flu jab each year and it has never given me `flu.
