Well, I am sorry to hear about your indisposition.

As it happens, I have had a similar condition, runny/blocked nose, temperature, the lot. Perhaps because this year for the first time, I took up the flu jab on offer at the NHS.

My son is convinced that they injected the flu into me.

But I don't let little things like that bother me. Easy for me to say!

I have a wonderful wife who cooks the most fabulous meals and wouldn't let me approach the kitchen. So I haven't been able to practise my culinary skills or even my dish-washing skills!

I suppose you have a proper household to run, always a daunting task!

Still, I am missing that wonderful hat of yours. I was really looking forward to treating you to 'breakfast at Tiffany's'

Get well soon and then live long and prosper.

Prashna

just give me a call, sorry to hear you had it too, this year i said no to the flu jab cos it made it worse when i had it, i think what got me down this year is that we all had it and i would have loved to get under the duvet and sleep through it all.

I've had it too, for the last two and a half weeks. Cant seem to shake it off - maybe it's something to do with getting older!

I returned to work today after being on holiday for two weeks and I think getting back to work has done me good - back into my normal routine, although give me an hour and I'll probably be nodding off on the sofa with exhaustion.

I'm in North London and I started feeling unwell on December 9th. For two weeks after that I felt awful and even now, although I feel a bit brighter, I'm still very low on energy (that's my excuse when it comes to not doing any cleaning) and don't have much appetite. Worst of all is that I can't shake this dreadful phlegmy cough although it's better than it was - for two weeks I was sleeping propped up because I would cough all night if I lay flat.
It seems to be a pretty universal bug and it's awful....those of you who haven't had it, count your blessings!

xxxx

lets hope everybody gets well soon - apparently January is going to be very very cold so that will kill all the bugs

Well, I love vinegar so I wouldn't mind trying this. (When I was a kid my Mum used to give me a raw egg beaten in vinegar but I can't remember what it was supposed to cure! Possibly a sore throat.:o)

I very nearly went to the doctor's to ask for some antibiotics in case I had a chest infection but I felt too ill to face the wait in the surgery so I haven't actually taken anything.

Sorry to hear you've all been unwell, we've had flu & tummy bugs here too, but I've managed to keep them at bay (touch wood) and not become fully ill with anything but the rest of my family have, there's also scarlet fever going around too...I hope that 2008 picks up quickly for everyone

Love
Amy

Sorry you have all had "the bug", its over here too though luckily has stayed away from me!! Hope you will all be feeling better soon.

We were away for Christmas but still had the deco's up. I just want to get rid of them now, we also had birthday cards up for my 6 yr old, 18th Dec, though my mother and the Irish Catholic Traditions has me scared stiffless to take them down until after the 6th. Tonight though my card holder with all the cards, secured firmly to the back of the kitchen door, fell down, so that's them for recycling! Personally I find it a bit depressing after new year to have the twinkling lights and santa looking at you!!!

Anyway, here's to a great new year and the deco's away for another 11 months!!

Love & blessings,

Rachel
