Would anyone like to offer an opinion as to the following.
My son's partner and her 15 year old daughter were at her mothers house last week and the mother said, "who's that".
She said that someone had just walked past her. Nobody else saw this. The mother said that it happens quite often and my son's partner confirmed that her mother had said that before.
Also the door to the living room has a latch type handle and a few times the handle has turned and the door opened. The mother said that it was her deceased cat which used to enter the room that way when it was alive. Both my son's partner and her daughter have seen this happen several times.
My son's partner also said that a friend of hers was working in a hotel kitchen when a woman came in and stated that she used to work there 25 years ago. She then left. The friend spoke to the owners who said that the only person that they knew who used to work there at that time was a lady now deceased. They still had a staff photo and showed it to him. He said that it was the same lady.
I have heard of "apparitions" but never where they interacted and spoke to someone, or as in the case of the cat physically moved an object.
Has anyone got any ideas or explanations for all this.

Why do you need ideas or explanations? You've basically said these are ghosts. Are you hoping for a 'rational' explanation that means you don't have to change your belief system?

Energetic residual of impulses, actions, momentum...becoming apparent, perceived as ghosts. Those who believe in ghosts mysteriously start perceiving them more frequently and with more validity than those who are not fussed either way of their presence or absence. Pretty much like everything else in life.
I am reminded of One of my father's jokes( this joke didn't inspire much laughter, but we got the message)
Ghost baby: mum I just saw a human. I am terrified
Ghost mum: oh dear child, there is nothing to be terrified of, humans are just apparitions in your mind
How lucky to have seen this or feel this experience, do you need opinions of belief or explanation of why this happen? My opinion is limited but seeing energy in this form is exciting. Thank you for asking.
