Hi, marma point therapy is a pragmatic use of energy healing in Ayurveda. These points influence the energy flow in the body based very much on the principles of the tri-dosha, Vata (Wind), Pitta (Fire/Bile) & Kapha (Water/Phlegm); and also influence the chakras. I have to admit I'm not an expert, TCM is more my thing, but the two systems do crossover.
Best Wishes

Thanks, RP, very interesting.

Hi, carrying on the theme of healing and religion
From page 1 of Textbook of Ayurveda Vol. 1 by Dr Vasant Lad:
The knowledge contained in Ayurveda deals with the nature, scope and purpose of life, and includes its metaphysical and physical aspects-health and disease, happiness and sorrow, pain and pleasure. Ayurveda defines life as the conjunction of body, mind and spirit found in Cosmic Consciousness and embracing all of Creation. Ayurveda states that the purpose of life is to know or realise the Creator, both within and without, and to express this Divinity in one's daily life. According to Ayurveda, every individual life is a microcosm of the Cosmos.
