I am just back from a fantastic day out, my husband and I went to the Blairdrummond Safari park, next to Blairdrummond Castle, which is near Stirling.

Wow!!! what amazing experience, from seeing animals roaming freely, to actually touching the animals.
To a beautiful Falcon display, a marvel.

The whole day is a experience, a truely brilliant day out, there is chimpanzes who their own island, as the can be very naughty, and must be separated away from passing cars.

As I remember my very first trip, when I was six years old, talk about vandals, then you seen nothing, yet, when you see they work.

Young and Old were there, it doesnt matter if you dont have children, as we dont and we still came back feeling amazed.

I truely recommend this as a day out, to everyone.

Hi, I didn't know there was another safari park in the UK as well as Longleat. I've been there twice, in Somerset, and that's great too. But probably more famous. So it's good to know there's at least one other! 🙂 Longleat can be fantastic or mediocre maybe according to time of year, I don't know. If it's cold the animals huddle out of sight a bit. But some are rarely out of sight: a kind of bulldozer is manned all day by a guy who sits there and makes sure rhinos don't charge your car as you go through. As for the little chimps, I think there's a warning that you might not want to drive in: the first time I did that, you immediately see all the windscreen wipers at the side of the road, and they jumped on and pulled ours off as well. 🙁

I've actually been there as a kind of HP meet-up. 🙂

P.S. I didn't know how to handle giraffes. Like, I was walking free and so were they! And I've not exactly ever had one as a pet! Are they safe, I wonder? (This was on foot, my first visit. Second visit, there was a small fence.) They are so incredibly tall, just huge, I didn't know if they might kick out if I went right up and touched one, and nobody seemed to be about to ask.

Hi V,They are safe enough. Very gentle in fact. You couldn't have had one as a pet. I don't think you would like to maintain a 25 ft high Barn. There are quite a few safari Parks in UK. Here is a list:

<a class="go2wpf-bbcode" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href=" http://www.safaripark.co.uk/Parksinfo/index.asp "> http://www.safaripark.co.uk/Parksinfo/index.asp Second nearest is Knowsley. Here

<a class="go2wpf-bbcode" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href=" http://www.knowsley.com/safari/ "> http://www.knowsley.com/safari/ I imagine Bewdley will be your nearest one, here:

<a class="go2wpf-bbcode" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href=" http://www.wmsp.co.uk/cgi-bin/WebObjects/safaripark.woa/wa/default "> http://www.wmsp.co.uk/cgi-bin/WebObjects/safaripark.woa/wa/default You could always check out the tiger in a flap

or even get close to an elephant

and even see your Giraffe. However feeding them might present a slight problem. It is true that they can bend down to about 5-7 ft.

So if you hold up some fresh tender branches from the upper reaches of Mimosa or Acacia trees or even hold up a 10 litre bucket of Evian, you might just tempt them. They are gentle enough and you don't look like (they have excellent eyesight) or smell like a lion! So you should be OK!Be careful about their tongue though! It's 20 inches long and is about as smooth as a rasp. I don't think you would enjoy being kissed by a Giraffe! See:
