I know a few of you here like to ponder on conspiracy theories, so I thought I'd share this one. If you've already heard it, apologies.
It was INEVITABLE that people would soon believe that Michael Jackson faked his own death and there are quite a lot of interesting videos to watch on this subject.
The first link I'll point you to is of Michael Jackson's friend 'Dave Dave' on Larry King Live. You need sound to appreciate this clip as there's no commentary or opinions about the conspiracy here, just look at Dave Dave's mannerisms ad hear his voice. YouTube has lots of links to other videos where people have analysed it:
Now have a look at Dave Dave's MySpace page and click on his 'pics' and have a look at the 'My Photos album:

There's lots more videos, like the mystery old man at his funeral, but I think those two are the most interesting.
I spent a silly amount of time one afternoon looking at videos, it is quite a 'fun' one to speculate on!

Who knows..Is it really so hard to believe he would or could fake his own death though?, I mean, really? seriously? The idea seems to far out there I know, but who knows! x
I must admit, it really made me think... The thing that puts me off conspiracy theories is the numbers of people involved that would have to keep a VERY big secret. It is possible for large groups of people to share and keep a secret, such as those involved in intelligence work, but I'm sure people would gain more for blowing the lid on this one than being in on the secret.
But seeing and hearing 'Dave Dave' in that vid, then seeing footage of Michael Jackson getting into prosthetics to make him look like an old man followed by looking at 'other' pics of Dave Dave, where he looks slightly different... well it really gave me the heebie jeebies...
And it really does look like his body bag moves!
I think it's really interesting, but just don't know what to think!

Dave Dave "looks like" Michael Jackson because they've both had lots of plastic surgery. In Dave Dave's case it was probably the best they could do after his severe burns. In Jacko's case it was just very bad plastic surgery on someone who didn't need it. There's a natural tendency to focus on the unusual features in a set of faces, and ignore the differences.
THat's why white people who first encounter black or Chinese people, seriously think they all look the same. When they become familiar with other races, they can tell individual Chinese or black people apart as easily as individual white people. This is a universal human trait BTW, I've been told by a Filipina that "all Chinese people look the same".
I can see why the theory and I can see why he would have pulled something like this off. However, although a performer, if you watched the sadness in Janet Jackson's eyes at the funeral and in particular, the sadness in the eyes of his children, I don't believe this was faked.

I really can't see that at all, he wanted his own children for so long, I really can't believe he would stage his own death "for their best". That's less feasible than the conspiracy theory itself.
I have to admit that I've never given the issue a seconds thought until I saw this thread, it got me thinking and I've decided I would not be at all surprised if his death is a fake because of the impossible amount of tour dates he had arranged around the world, brilliant he may have been but only human 50 years old and addicted to all kinds of prescription meds, the papers said a tour of that size would be hard going for a man half his age plus it's said he was skint so the faked death theory would have solved both of these problems.

I think you misread what I wrote. I never actually said Dave Dave looks like Michael Jackson at all. I said the Dave Dave in the Larry King video looks different to the Dave Dave in his own photos on his MySpace photos page. Do you think MJ and Dave Dave look alike? I said that there are other videos of MJ getting into prosthetics to look like an old man! Obviously I phrased myself badly.
What struck me about the Dave Dave on Larry King was his mannerisms and his voice. Now I know that a lot of followers of Jackson like to talk like him, so that doesn't amount to much. But it was only when I saw the other photos of Dave Dave, where, completely contrary to what you implied, he looks different.
Having said that, there's a point in the Larry King video where you see his hands... and they look very real to me.
I'm not convinced either way... but I do find it very interesting!
And the 'ghost' vid does throw a spanner into the works! I really like that one! Maybe it's just Larry King behind all these red herrings!
