Looks like it is sleeping to me.
Yes, it is sleeping. Couldn't find one that indicated total boredom, so this was the nearest to how I felt!
Of course I don't know what went on that night anymore than anyone else here, it is my opinion.
Wow I haven't been on here for a while and I thought i'd pop in to see what everyone was saying about the riots. Didn't expect a post like this one.
OB You said yourself. You don't know what went on that night any more than anyone else on here. So Why? be judge and jury? Have an opinion yes! but to decide what you think went on that night and believe yourself right! is a little sad to me. Try not to judge other people when you couldn't possibly know anything about that night.
For me! Anything Kate and Gerry do (media wise) to highlight the disappearance of madeline, only brings the attention to the public that they are not alone and according to the tabloids at the weekend (Daily Star). Over 200 children have been snatched this year already. They are not alone in their pain and Kate hs spoken about this publicly and is concerned for ALL the parents involved.
Never accuse or make up your own story just because someone doesn't cry on their interview. Everyone handles emotion in different ways.
Wherever little Maddie is and all those other children. I just hope they dont suffer! and are returned to their parents one day, safe x

Erm. if you use that attitude you might as well shut down this forum now.
You evidently believe what they say, I don't. You are very blinkered if not a little naive. You tell me not to be judge and jury when you are doing exactly the same. Your jury has found them `not guilty`.
Maybe you are not a parent I don't know, I am and if it were my child that had gone missing I would have answered any questions the police asked if I thought it would get my child back not refuse as she did.
Orange Blossom, I totally agree with what you just said.
Only God alone knows for sure what happened that night but my intuition tells me that they are guilty and I make no apologies for that.
When interviewed she said they went to their room to see if Maddie was there and then realised the man (?) who took her must have taken her out the window of her room.Would you not be frantic and searching all rooms and outside.I do feel sorry for them AND am sad this has happened to them but it must be eating away at them.I would not have left those kids alone in the first place.

Then unfortunately this thread is saying more about you than the McCanns, OB.

Just a little reminder...
Libel - Defamation by written or printed words. Derogatory communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual but made with reckless disregard for the truthfulness of the statement.
The members who condemn the McCanns here admit they don't know what happened!
I do wonder what the point of starting this thread was, it just comes across as malicious.
Most people feel it deeply when a child is hurt, be it a fictious child on a television drama or in this case the very real and very beautiful Maddie.
No doubt, whatever happened that night, her parents have shed a lot of tears behind closed doors, but I guess some onlookers can't understand how a parent could be so outwardly composed in those early days.
Whether they are doctors and used to dealing with horrible situations, or have a faith so deeply rooted they're able to draw strength from it, many believe that they are parents first and foremost and would have behaved accordingly. There is the chance that Kate was midly sedated at the time and this could explain the lack emotion.
@Barafundle - I doubt anyone will be sued for libel for giving an opinion here. I have heard there are whole forums dedicated to this topic 🙁
Barafundle, I could sue you for slander here

Others may question Kate's demeanor, but I have never mentioned this.
My views (as I have said, just my view/opinion) is based on hard evidence i.e her being asked I believe 40 questions of which she would only answer one.
Another strange thing she did, was delete all message off of her mobile phone leading up to Madeline's disappearance. Why would she feel the need to do this?

Perhaps because she knew that family etc. needed to be in touch with her and her inbox was full?
Of course you could assume the negative perspective and see it as strange, but I think any innocent person wouldn't consider their innocent text messages as being important, so why not delete them as you have to do from time to time?
I guess it's only those who are into conspiracies that will obviously read something more sinister into it.

Gosh this thread reminds me so much on two old men gossiping in the pub. One is 100% sure he's right because his neighbour's, wife's, cousin (twice removed) told him so!!! - "it's true because i say it is" lol!
What is your hard evidence based on OB? Where did you get the facts that you base such a strong opinion on? Did you read all the police files first hand, visit the scene, interview the McCanns and all the other witnesses? Do you know more than the police know? Has this hard evidence of yours seen the McCann's arrested and convicted? Where you there that night and saw it all? Have you been through a child abduction yourself and know exactely how you would feel / act / cope / behave and deal with the police and media when under such emotional turmoil and pressure? Do you know what it's like to have every step you take so minutely scrutinised and judged - mainly by wessel journalists who want to make a big story? Would you know how to live up to everyone else's expectations of how you 'should' behave when in their situation? Is there a set way someone 'must / must not' behave when their child is abducted? Or, are they simply guilty in your eyes because they have not lived up to your expectations of how child abducted parents 'should' act or not act?
You made a statement that what you know is fact yet in the middle of one of your 'factual' sentances you write 'I believe 40 questions'. Adding 'I believe' indicates that you actually don't know for sure and that tells everyone that you don't know if your hard evidence is fact at all!
I do not know if they did it or not. I have not seen the hard evidence that is so loosly talked about on here and elsewhere . I have no idea of how I or anyone else 'should' behave in a similair situation so i make no judgement on the McCanns.
If there is the 'hard evidence' that you've tried to get everyone here to believe there is and if it's such strong evidence then why haven't the McCanns been arrested?
The police are the only ones with 'hard evidence', the newspapers, tv media or those that would have you believe are somehow 'in the know' do not!
Regardless of proof of guilt or not, posting such a negative thread like this on such a positive, helpful forum does nothing for this forum or for you.
But it's all conjecture!
Many have posted their views, but to coin a phrase "It's a mystery".
To publicly accuse the parents of being responsible for the disappearence is unjustified and without foundation.
At present NOBODY (except the perpetrator) knows. Not the police, not the authorities - and not ill-informed commentators.
Hello All,
I don't know what happened to little Madeleine, nor can I imagine how her parents and siblings are feeling, but nobody here yet, has considered this: what if Madeleine was found alive and well and living with another family? Would she be taken from those whom she has known since the age of three to be returned to her natural parents? Would she even remember her natural parents? Maybe Mr & Mrs McCann would face long, drawn out court battles to have her returned, only to find at the end of it that Madeline yearns for her 'surrogate' family? The case throws up a whole set of situations that will arise if Madeleine is ever found living with others.
I think the only thing that the Drs. McCann are guilty of, is leaving their small children to go out for dinner with friends, I personally would never have left my children to go out at night. Maybe they thought it was safe to do so? Being on holiday can make even the most savvy parents let their guard down. The remorse and regret they feel must be overwhelming.
Love,
Patsy.
Personally I don't agree that the parents did anything untoward, but I agree that the child probably died that night, or very soon after as no-one in their right mind would have held onto the child amid so much publicity.
I do think it is time for the family and nation to move on, Indeed it is tragic, but there is no point pumping more money, time and energy into this, it's futile.
She might be alive or she might be dead. Either way the Police should keep looking until they are able to answer that question one way or the other - and bring the perpetrator(s) to justice.
