Meta

William, gay? How do you know?

Kaif

I'm very interested to hear what informed resources meta draws upon to answer this question...

Reminds me of that song by The Clash

"And don't forget to grovel!"

Seriously, how pathetic it all is. The country's going down the pan, and our leaders think we'll all feel better for a royal wedding. and actually most of us will, but that's cos emotional manipulation is quite easy, and the Royals are experts at it.

The radio was going on about how its the first time an heir to the throne has married a member of the middle class, rather than an aristocrat or another royal- as if this was some great leap forward for our society.

These people still expect deference, just because of their ancestry, irrespective of their own rather limited achievements. What a contrast with the really great people in this world like Mandela and Aung San Suu Chyi, who generally seem to be very unassuming and modest.

Well said swhypno, does this Government think we are all so thick that we cannot see what this is all about, thinking we can be sidetracked to forgetting what state this country is in by giving us all this rubbish. I went for a newspaper this morning but came back without one because everone of them had these two HUMAN beings plastered all over the front cover, and that is all they are two human beings, put onto a pedestal through some underhand goings on in their ancestors way distant past, for heavens sake they chopped each others heads off once upon time. 035:

Meta, thought your comment hilarious...

feel sorry for William anyone can see he's gay.
Regards META

Am I the only one who could care less? Once the date is announced I'm booking a holiday at the same time - in a remote place with no TV or radio!

My thoughts when I saw her wearing `that ring` was good grief, I hope it's not cursed.

I had to laugh when they said `how relaxed` they appeared. She looked like she has a wooden board stuck up the back of her dress.

I didn't realise she had such a cut glass accent, she sounded more royal than William.

Anyway good luck to them, especially if he is gay, still wouldn't be the first 😉

to be honest, I feel so sorry for her. Im in no way a royalist infact I think the whole things should be done away with but that poor girl now not only has to learn a new way of life in private adn the rolls that go with it but she also has to step into the shoes of one of the few royals I had any time for. Diana was such a down to earth, normal person as far as she could be in that family I almost feel the royals corrupted her life and poor Kate will have to learn fast or be the next

Do you think he'd have been allowed to marry her if she had an ordinary regional accent? If she was black? Non-Christian? Workingclass?

I too feel sorry for the girl. And I think this country should grow up. Monarchy belongs in the Middle Ages, not the 21st Century.

Imagine the "Person Specification" on the Royal job description...

Specific Requirements.

1. Candidate must the eldest legitimate offspring of a monarch.
2. Candidate must be a member of the Church of England.

Other requirements.

Er, no, that's it.

What about:

3. Candidate must accept that they are public property 24/7;
4. Candidate must accept that anything they do or say will be taken down and used in evidence against them;
5. Candidate will be never nip down to the shops in their jimjams or with less than perfect hair;
6. Candidate must be pleasant to everyone they meet even if the person is an offensive bozo or psychopathic dictator that the UK is chummy with;
7. Candidate must be prepared to say "And what do you do?" several million times over their lifetime;
8. Candidate will never get drunk and do silly things in public;
9. Candidate will show unfailing interest in the manufacture of plastic widgets, the village history of Little Grimeswold or the life of Mrs Doris Snibs (or any other process, place or person as may be required);
10. Candidate will never have a normal life.

Tough decision. But I think I'll pass. 😉
