I mean, she would be brilliant at the job, surely, with her astounding knowledge of geopolitics? From a latest interview:

Interviewer: "How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea?"

Sarah Palin: "Obviously we've got to stand with our North Korean Allies."

I mean, most of us just know the basic news and long-term situation, yet from THAT surely know who has the bomb, threatens to use it, and just sent 200 shells into South Korean territory. Palin, a 'politician', doesn't know North Korea from South! 😮 😮

Please Lord, don't let her ever get in?

The tea party has been described as 'astroturf' - that's an artificially contrived 'grass-roots' movement.

And what makes her particularly right for the job is the fact that she can see Russia from Alaska .

I wonder how she would have handled the Cuban missile crisis:eek:

Remember this? Correlation between IQ and voting preferences in the USA:

http://tvhe.wordpress.com/2008/11/10/iq-and-voting-2004-us-election/

In a way it's a shame it turned out to be a hoax, I first read it in New Scientist. Just goes to show that there's no difference between the main parties that appeals to people on the basis of intelligence alone. Or else voters for both parties are just as easily fooled. Or something...

This, on the other hand, isn't a hoax - Green party and Liberal Democrat voters have higher IQ. This was before the 2010 election, of course.

Looking on the positive side, it would give a great boost to the career of the lovely Tina Fey.

Really, it seems incredible to have to say, but Bush Jnr was surely much better than Palin. He had a team around him whom I didn't like but who were knowledgeable and capable (if only of doing the wrong thing capably).

There appears to be an actual chance that Palin might become president of the USA? As she might have done had she been VP this time round? It's incredible, and so scary. She has less knowledge of geopolitics I'd think than the average person, at least in the UK.

But - it's not her fault, huh? The American electorate via democracy can back whomever they choose. To even consider Palin for any kind of political office speaks realms about the state of democracy in the USA, and the level of awareness of geopolitics (LOL) within the average US citizen.

The problem being of course that this is not Georgia, Portugal, or Ecuador (just nations I named at random). The US President is fully capable of ruining or half-destroying the world if he/she is of such a nature, by war, ridiculous economics, even ridiculous social policies. So her even being considered effects us too in the UK of course.

Simply unbelievable. Monty Python would not have made this up. Well - just about.

Yes, which (though she couldn't of course see it!) gave her "a knowledge of Russia", right? 😮

I wonder how she would have handled the Cuban missile crisis:eek:

I think we know, and it'd be a very different and unrecognisable world today......

There's no subtlety or actual thought in her words and actions, it seems. This potential scenario is an horrific stand-up-style joke come to actual life.

But again - it wouldn't be happening if so many Americans weren't themselves so naive as to back her. Those who do back her don't see her utter incapability and where it will lead, as they themselves don't have the education or vision.

We can only hope: surely it won't ever actually happen? 😮

If Palin became the US President, does that automatically mean that she is the most powerful person in the world (as the USP often stated in the media to be)? I personally don't think so. She would be a puppet with her strings pulled by the real power mongers behind the scenes. So Palin would be a front for the hidden agenda, like all the other presidents.

Will Palin get to be president? Probably! And if she doesn't comply to the wishes of her "behind the scenes backers" then she won't have a 2nd term or caught with her knickers down like Bill Clinton or even shot!

Tina Fey? Very talented actress, comedian, satirist and writer, who does a brilliant Palin impression (Google her!). Some of the sayings now attributed to Palin (being able to see Russia from Alaska, for example) were actually written and performed by Fey.

Fey's very good-looking too...

The upcoming Uranus-Pluto transit from 2010 through to 2016 means that politicians who present themselves as anti-establishment are more likely to succeed. Palin has strong support from the "grass roots" Tea Party Movement who present themselves as for the common man and against the Washington/hollywood/intellectual/liberal establishment. These people feel oppresed by big Government, affirmative action, etc etc, they even see Obama's Health Insurance plans as a monstrous communist oppression.

Obama could only win if he presents himself as even more radical than Palin and secures support of people who are genuinely oppressed as opposed to those who like to think they are. But Obama daren't do this cos he's terrified of identifying too closely with blacks, muslims, foreigners, etc for fear of alienating the white majority. Plus which he appears too intellectual, which the Americans hate. Clinton is as intelligent as Obama, but he managed to appear more like an ordinary bloke.

So I predict Palin for President, and a war in 2013-2014 when she gets going. If not her then some other right wing fundamentalist Christian fanatic.

She's got the common touch, she's physically attractive, has five kids, has had her own problems eg kid with Downs syndrome, other kid who is unmarried mum, son in army, so a sympathetic character in that sense- and she shoots things- America would love her!

And as reiki pixie says, she will be a puppet like GW Bush and to a lesser extent Reagan, so it doesn't matter if she's thick. She can employ someone like Condoleezza Rice to point out North Korea on the map so she doesn't nuke the wrong country.

THe measure of the real power of US Presidents is shown by the fact that at least one of htem has promised, before election, to open all govt files on UFOs, but when they come to power they never actually do so. Nowadays they have much less power than people think, although in the past men like Roosevelt did have a lot of power, that's why the army and big business conspired to overthrow him in a military coup in the 1930s, as revealed by General Smedley Butler.

And in case anyone finds that hard to beleive, there was actually a coup plot in this country in the 1970s, against the Harold Wilson govt.

I'm not advocating Palin for President, but this is ridiculous. Candidates make gaffes like this all the time. I don't think this was her not knowing, she just made a mistatement. Remember, Obama said the United States had 57 states. Why wasn't the media all over that, as that is even worse. I don't think you have to worry, most people in her own party don't want Palin as President. I disagree with you though about her being dumb, she's not. Her hehind the scenes work with the Tea Party helped Republicans win big in the November elections.
