Is it just me who doesn't give a fig whether huge donations to political parties are given by one individual.
I cannot see why this should be a crime. I can see the crime as just recently in someone donating money and using someone elses name without their consent. There was of course the amusing saga of one of the so called donators to labour party being a conservative.
The other question I ask is and I feel more important, what do the likes of David Abraham hope to get by donating such a large sum?
It's a crime because it breaks one of the 3000+ laws that New Labour brought in since it was elected in 1997.
The fact that the mainstream parties are so reliant on donations from individuals doesn't bode well for the state of British Democracy.
I think that donors like David Abraham do see some linkage between their donation and their own interests, I don't see any other reason for donating cash to such an organisation as New Labour.
It is wrong but most politicians are doing it anyways.
