I would love it - just love it (to quote Kevin Keegan) if Nick Clegg pulled off an amazing victory. I don't have faith in either Con or Lab - and to be honest not much faith either in the Lib Dems' ability to be any different - but I would just love to see a major shake up in the nation's political arena. They surely couldn't do any worse....for heaven's sake, me and the guys upstairs could probably do a better job.:D
And from other threads on this topic, I get the feeling that quite a few of us on HP are leaning towards a Lib Dem vote. I'm certainly going to vote now whereas a week or so ago I didn't think I could be bothered.

Trouble is, we all think of the Lib Dems as a party of idealists whose hands have been kept for too long from the reins of power. Not entirely true. Lib Dems run many councils (they used to run my local council in coalition with the Tories) and I see little sign of those local authorities being any more like paradise than all the other councils.
I can see the appeal of the underdog etc etc etc and I can see Clegg looking like a fresher face than Cameron (though he has been in post for two and a half years and has hardly made an impact in that time). I can also agree with him on the non-replacement of Trident. And Vince Cable is a heavyweight (though so was Menzies Campbell, and everyone just made fun of him). But how many other Lib Dem MPs can anyone name?
Who knows? Anything is possible. But I would be amazed if this "new Lib Dem dawn" amounts to any more than all the others in the past. In fact, I will happily show (a picture of) my bottom on this website if the Lib Dems come anywhere other than third, like they always do...
Looking forward to seeing your bottom then Nick!!
Thats vote swinger if ever there was one 🙂

Bet I've got a better bum than Nick Clegg - even if he is a lot younger than me!
Perhaps we should base our votes on the quality of the leaders bottoms - although the idea of them carrying out the tv debates in thongs makes me feel rather more sick than some of their policies do!!!! 🙂
Thanks for making me smile this afternoon Nick!
urrgh you have now planted the picture of gordon brown and others in thong, ruined my tea now

I'm totally with you on this one Sunny...for years we where told if you vote lib dem it's giving a free vote to the tories...I think Lib Dem are gonna do it this time...I hope so too...not that it makes a huge difference...they're all in it for their own ends at the end of the day

How on earth do you know?

In a sense that's true, but don't forget that many of the local councils being run by Lib Dems are over-ruled by a County Council which more often than not is Labour or Conservative. The County Council's can easily limit what the local councils can do, so it can be hard for them (whether lib dems or other) to make a real difference.
All Love and Reiki Hugs
Will most likely vote for Lib Dems (though I may be swayed by the Greens at the last moment) - what's amusing and rather puzzling is that the other night I actually dreamt that I was married to Nick Clegg - not sure what this says about the workings of my uncounsious mind!?! 😉 (I don't like to think what my boyfriend would have to say about this - but perhaps I shouldn't mention it!).. Don't ask me about Nick's bum - I didn't see it in my dream!

Bizzarrely Masha, I also had a dream about Nick Clegg, although not that I was married to him. I dreamed that he was helping build our next door neighbour's extension, but started taking up our patio instead........
Go on. Analyze that one then........

It means that you see him as someone promising to help build things back up, but really he's going to damage the ground under your feet.
Perhaps there's something in your unconscious telling you something?
Oooh. Good analysis.
I'm not voting for him then, although it would be great to see Supersub's bum.....

Sadly, ladies, I'm not counting on having to show it any time soon! Though (obviously) I will be true to my word - HP rules permitting - should the Lib Dems astonish me and finish anything but third...
Do you know your marathon number yet, Nick? It would be great to be able to spot you on the telly! Given all the training you've been doing your bum must be in good shape by now! And good luck to Fulham tonight.
