Hello All,
What do you think set Barney off on his teddy bear ripping spree? Was his owner right not to want to work with him again?

RE: Barney The Dog
No , his owner is not right to not want to work with him again. The bears should have been under glass or locked away. The Insurance company should have stipulated that anyway, and seriously common sense should have told the Museum people that dogs love toys.
RE: Barney The Dog
I totally agree, Teddy. What were those priceless bears doing out of their wrappers? The dog can't be blamed. It's doubly important to keep precious things out of dogs' way because they have such a keen sense of smell. It's believed that a 'rogue scent' set Barney off. No wonder the owners of the bears went mad. I'd have done the same.
Love,
Patsy.

Hi Patsy
Judy posted a link to the Daily Mail's version of this story in the Pets forum:

You may have seen another version which says his owner doesn't want to work with him again, and to answer your question, I think he SHOULD work with him again, but perhaps rather more sensibly!
I said in the Pets forum, so won't repeat myself at length here, I believe ultimately it's up to the people ... owners, trainers, whoever ... to realise that a dog is a dog and will behave like one, given the circumstances or trigger to do so. Not so very different IMO from those awful stories of a few years ago, when children were killed by Rottweilers.

Hi Laura,
Yes, I saw Judy's link in 'pets' and I thought I'd post Barney's story in 'current affairs' too, since he's got his 'fizzhog' in the papers! 😀
Love,
Patsy.

common sense should have told the Museum people that dogs love toys.
Unfortunately, common sense is not as common as we would like to think!
