The Gokai Way

The Gokai Way is a professional holistic health practice based in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire. It offers an authentic approach to Japanese Health Arts and some of these include – Jikiden Reiki, Kiko and Anma, along with a therapeutic Zen Meditation practice.

Reiki was founded by Sensei (teacher) Mikao Usui, and Mark Brereton / The Gokai Way belongs to a Japanese lineage under The Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai (Institute), belonging to the Yamaguchi family.

Reiki therapy works with the flow of energy between the reiki practitioner and the receiver of the treatment. Reiki releases energy flows and allows the bodys own natural healing ability to work better and effortlessly. Unlike acupuncture it does not use needles and provides a user friendly alternative in natural health and wellbeing. (The Gokai Way practice is Vegan and Vegetarian friendly).

Reiki may be used to focus on specific health issues or to provide an all over body and mind rejuvenation or a deeper understanding and exploration of oneness and the self.

Ki energy should flow freely through your energy points and body in order for you to be physically, and mentally healthy. When energy paths are blocked, you may feel ill or weak or have pain. Reiki works to unblock these issues.

The reiki practitioner places his or her hands over or on your body at certain energy points. With a focus on touch, breath, relaxation and intention reiki and the practitioner will work with the energy to enhance your health and improve your general wellbeing.

The participant is fully clothed and will only need to wear loose comfortable clothing.

Reiki may be practiced laying down or seated, whichever is comfortable for the participant.

Sessions may usually last anywhere between 30 minutes and 90 minutes depending on the needs and circumstances.

The Gokai Way is fully proficient with the following – Professional Indemnity and Public liability insurance | Enhanced Disclosure and Barring certificate | First Aid Certificate | Anatomy and Physiology certificate. | and also fully trained to Shoden and Okuden by a certified Jikiden Reiki Shihan (teacher). I am also fully trained in other Reiki lineages to Shinpiden / Master Teacher Level.
