those who are looking to use massage professionally and aim to develop advanced Sports and Remedial Massage techniques.
Topics covered throughout the course include: Anatomy, Physiology, Massage Application and Business Setup and Promotion. For a full breakdown of units and course delivery, please see www.coreelements.uk.com/Courseoutline.
Both courses are taught by Dawn Morse BSc, PGCE, MSc
Dawn has been working within the field of Sports Massage Therapy and Sports Science for over 15 years. During this time Dawn successfully ran her own Sports Massage Therapy clinic and was the programme leader for the University of Bath Sports Therapy Foundation Degree.
With a Masters Degree in Sports and Health Sciences and as qualified teacher, Massage Practitioner and Sports Scientist, Dawn aims to provide a rounded massage training course that will prepare you for work within the health, fitness and therapy industry.
On completion of the course you will be able to join The Sports Therapy Association which is a professional accreditation body and gain insurance to practice as a Sports Massage Therapist or Massage Therapist.
This programme is designed for people who aim to progress or begin their career in professional Massage Therapy. You may be working within the health, wellness or fitness progression already and would like to expand your range of skills.
In order to complete the Diploma you are required study at the intensive Certificate level first (week 1 of the course).
Due to the nature of massage therapy the course is taught using a hands-on approach, therefore you will be providing as well as receiving massage therapy throughout the teaching days, whilst receiving ongoing input from the tutor.
You will work with different members of the group throughout the weeks to acquire experience massaging different body types and gaining a feel for the different ways people hold muscle tension. This approach will enable you to gain experience in adjusting the depth of the massage to fit individual clients.
Thoroughly enjoyed everything about the course, its content, the way in which it was delivered and the other people in the group. L. R – Swindon
