This is en enquiry to the Reiki practitioners, students and teachers.

Question Time.........

🙂 At the risk of repeating myself....I am attuned to level 2, but the teachers taught minimal and nil support afterwards.

Now I am revisiting, learning from books and personal application of this healing method on a daily basis. I have been drawn to the traditional Usui methods and those are the ones I am applying to myself.

However....what about all the branches. Is it a case of Reiki is the base from which all of Reiki should evolve as the holistic human evolves and uses this healing system...or...do you think it is a totally different type of spirituality, a different spiritual tree as it were...and should be regarded as such.

What type of Reiki do you practice..or are interested in, have you been attuned to several different types, and do you notice any difference?

Hi Fleur,

I was lucky enough to be tought by my reiki master who has done both the Western branch and the traditional Japanese branch, he went into both side in quite a bit of depth so much so that both my reiki 1 & 2 manuals are an A4 folder full of information.

I dont know if you have read the book "The reiki sourcebook" by Bronwen and Frans Stiene but it goes into the different branches of reiki and gives alot to think about.

Blessings for your journey

Hello S.O.S. welcome to the forum BTW

Yes I have read the source book as well as quite a few others over the past few weeks....
they will all need to be revisited I think, in due course. 😉

A lot to take in, within such a short space of time.

I was just wondering about peoples personal experience I suppose 🙂

Hi Fleur
In answer to your question, I have been taught the Usui Tradition System of natural Healing (Reiki 1, 2 and 3). I also have Seichem 1 and 2 Levels - these systems are of course Reiki modalities. I am also learning more Reiki modalities to incorporate into my healing work and to teach others too. I have just done Kundalini Reiki and soon will be doing Karuna Ki and White Dove Reiki. I found the Kundalini Reiki quite strong but in a different sense but have yet to use it on a client. I just love learning and its all part of my spiritual development. If I am doing a Reiki Treatment, then I will use Usui, but have used Seichem as its also a strong energy with different symbols, quite similar to Karuna Ki, on my son who once had a really high temperature and I was out of Calpol. So incorporated Usui and Seichem and within 20 minutes his temperature had completely gone and he was rather cool. I have not done a Seichem treatment on its own as I need the time to review the symbols and learn them etc., but this is all a part of the learning curve and will come in time. But just by saying the words "Seichem" changes the energy somewhat. With Kundalini Reiki, instead of tingling that I usually get with Usui Reiki, I get sort of pins and needles and this extends up my arm. Its very interesting.

Hope this has helped you somewhat

x

Morning Heaven spirit (I can't do the wiggle symbol :p)

"I am also learning more Reiki modalities to incorporate into my healing work and to teach others too. I have just done Kundalini Reiki and soon will be doing Karuna Ki and White Dove Reiki"

So does that mean you have to have the attunements again from level one onwards?

"With Kundalini Reiki, instead of tingling that I usually get with Usui Reiki, I get sort of pins and needles and this extends up my arm. Its very interesting"

So you can physically differentiate between the different Reiki energies?, and do you intend to use different types depending on what energy/helaing is required,?

Yes thankyou...it has helped me....more questions bursting forth as you can see 😀

You should feel a difference as Kundalini Reiki is not Reiki, yes I know that was what it was called but it is a completely different modality all together from Usui Reiki.

Ooo, let's see...

I've done Western Reiki, Gaia Now (see Paul Cricks links above), Jikiden Reiki, Sekhem (before Helen Belot disbanded the Sekhem Association), and also Seichim/SKHM with Patrick Zeigler.

I personally believe that if you are going to call it "Reiki" then it should have it's origins in Japanese Reiki, through a lineage which goes back to Usui sensei.

However, I've found great benefit from all those that I have done and they have all helped me progress in various ways.

Western Reiki was what I started with, it got me "into" Reiki and got me interested.
I then received the Gaia Now attunement and found this worked wonderfully alongside Reiki treatments.
I then learnt Sekhem as, somehow, I was drawn towards it (even though it was considered a "feminine" energy). This however (if you search the forums for Sekhem threads by myself) taught me some valuable lessons about what I shall call "ego and control". I still use the Sekhem energy I was attuned to, but not so much of the teachings and certainly not in business to promote myself as any sort of Sekhem practitioner (gawd forbid, I wouldn't want Helen Belot taking legal action against me for misuse of her trademarked name).
I can't remember which came next, SKHM or Jikiden? Hmmm...

Jikiden I did with my Western Reiki Master, and found this to be a very good progression in my Reiki path. Jikiden was so much simpler than Western Reiki but seemingly more effective. I love it.

SKHM... so far I've done two workshops with Patrick, and I know I'll be doing more. This is a completely different kettle of fish and has worked wonderfully for myself as well as for those I've used it with. I've found it works brilliantly with FreewayCER as a means to help release the emotions.

I guess overall, you just have to go with what feels right, try other things and see what suits and if not, just leave them.

😉

All Love and Reiki Hugs

Hi,
Paul Crick is right. Kundalini is not Reiki but it originated from someone who was taught Reiki. Kundalini has 3 levels and also 1-6 boosters. These can be taken through long distance, which is what I did and it has taken over a month to get the attunement as one has to wait about 5 days between each attunement. The founder of Kundalini Ole Gabrielsen actually calls it Kundalini Reiki, possibly because its less confusing. He has a website http://www.olegabrielsen.com/

Yes I would say that I feel the different energies and with Kundalini can help peope more with birth trauma, past life healing, situation healing etc., but obviously each practitioner/teacher is different... and yes I will incorporate all these reiki modalities into a healing if someone needs it.

I think the concept of what 'spirituality' is, should be a universal concept and independent of the system or method used. In reality though, what spirituality is, is very much dependent on interpretation and understanding. Traditional Usui Reiki offers a view of spirituality rooted in Japanese spiritual philosophies. These philosophies shape the teachings and methods of Usui Reiki. Over the years what is taught as Usui Reiki has changed in some lineages and new forms of Reiki have been developed with little or no roots in Japanese spiritual philosophies. For these reasons I think traditional Usui Reiki is a different 'spiritual tree'.

Reiki means universal life force energy and these modalities which consist of new healing systems use energy. Where does the energy come from ? The Life Source, the Universe, etc. Obviously the principles, symbols and attunement processes etc are different but not the energy. It is one of the same.

I am thinking along the lines of there are many "templates" of spiritual or Reiki healing, we just need to find which pattern or "modality" suits us the best and perhaps be mindful where the roots were first planted, and the teacher who first introduced it to the world.

The debate between the East and Western style of reiki has after all come about because of the growth of the great Reiki Branches across the world.

We are fortunate to have such choice and an abundance of knowledge and resources into which we can dip our own little roots and shoots in which to gain spiritual nourishment....:).

The source is one, but the Oneness has incalculable aspects that form it, Usui will have connected with such an aspect when he brought forth what is known as Reiki, Ole Gabrielsen connected with another aspect of the Oneness when he borough forth his systems, I connected with another aspect of the Oneness when I brought forth the Gaia-now modality.

The only constant is the Oneness, the systems are all different unless it is just an adaptation of an existing one, the energy is the same form or type of energy which is created from energy consciousness, or thought energy if you like.

So unless two individuals can have exactly the same thought patterns at the same time, with the same insight and conceptual understanding they will think differently and what is manifested from their thoughts will be different.

This is why no two healers are the same, the same as no two healing modalities are the same, the energy beings themselves who encompass the Oneness are all different yet connected within the consciousness of the Oneness.

We are also a intricate part of this Oneness which allows us to connect and function as energy workers but we are all different, just as the energy we work with is similar in nature but different as we are all unique.

IMHO there are no healers in any modalities, only Healing Channels.

That equates to:
If there are no healers, then there can be no healing, by definition only healers can actually heal.
If there is no healing and no healers, then there can be no healing modalities, because it takes a responsible healer to create a healing modality.
