Hi Hallos

Just noticed your reply.

If money isn't a big issue, there is something to be said about having independent insurance coverage so you can't be dictated by a PA.

As a recomendation I find Holistic Insurance Services to be pretty OK.

Best Wishes

Hello All,

This is the feedback i got from The UK REIKI:

We are unable to accept angelic Reiki for membership purposes because it is
a channelled system and does not originate from Mikao Usui. This is not only
our requirement but is a requirement for regulation which states that a
lineage with an unbroken lineage of teachers back to the originator of the
system must be produced, and which in this instance cannot happen.

For reference, the NOS had to have a definition of Reiki that was inclusive of forms of Reiki that actually are forms of Reiki and exclusive to other types of healing that tag the term 'Reiki' on the end of the name to make it seem like Reiki. The guideline we came up with was that to be classed as 'Reiki' the system would need a lineage starting with Usui-sensei. Usui-sensei founded Reiki as it is understood in the West and therefore the term 'Reiki' refers to that system and its variants.

The other thing is, if some one channels a new form of healing, why would they call it 'Reiki'? Why not just call it something else? That way there would be no confusion.

I am finding this thread extremely interesting.

I am wondering though why the FHT is coming in for so much criticism - surely it is the responsibility of the originator/teacher of any training course to ensure that the course is recognised by the appropriate associations and insurance companies. The associations and insurance companies can only recognise/approve/accredit courses where the originator/teacher approaches them and pays for the process - otherwise their members would have to fund the costs, not a good idea. I certainly wouldn't join an association where my membership fees were being used to fund the costs of approving courses.

So for me the lesson I have taken from this thread is to to ensure that any course I take is recognised by my association and insurance company.

Its also called Usui System of Natural Healing so Angelic could be called Angelic System of Natural Healing. I have said this in a past post and will repeat it. Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy. All these forms of energy or new healing systems, use energy which come from the Universe, the Life Force, the Source, Godddess, God, Angels etc....

I just believe that they are all one and the same, except with different creators.

I personally feel that every form of Reiki is different. To me Reiki is more than a type of energy, it is a complete system that includes unique teachings and methods. That is why I teach one system of Reiki only. I teach traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho because it works perfectly as it is. It is simple, elegant and very effective.

Hi Hallos RE post #24

I didn't realise that you have only Usui level 1. I see why FHT are being funny with you and I didn't realise that Angelic Reiki wasn't a branch of Usui Reiki. Why not send them a copy of your course notes and any syllabus/course info and see if they would insurance it. But as I'm typing this I have realised also the problem with Reiki NOS. So much politics! I think you are still better off with a private insurance policy.

Best Wishes
