I Charge €55 for 50mins for Reflexology
Hi
I attended my first homebirth the other day and as I wanted to witness it to prepare me for University in Sept as a midwife I did not charge the couple at all. I was there from 11.15pm until 7.30am but the experience was amazing. I was there in the capacity as reflexologist and birthing partner along with the husband. Helping out the midwife too. So in other circumstances where you may charge I have no idea really, you may need to discuss this with the individuals concerned up front before agreeing on anything and maybe get a little contract set up - i know that sounds all very 'formal' but just an idea, don't know really what to suggest. Just thinking out loud! Good idea? No? Not sure? Whether you charge a full amount or an hourly rate is entirely up to you but for my first i did if for free just for the experience.
Just knowing when to back down when you feel your client is not wanted to have her feet touched and then knowing when to approach is key.
Hope that helped a little.
Not been experienced in this long so sorry cannot be of much help.

Hi Peppermint
I am coming round to the view that £40 for a home visit and £35 for home treatment is a reasonable charge and in line with other practitioners. I will do a bit of a survey of prices in local spas and see how much they are charging now.
When I worked as an aromatherapist and reflexologist at my local spa the clients were charged £45 for a reflexology - and I believe their prices have probably increased since then.
It is true about reviewing your prices that you need to set it at the right level at the outset - but heck our overheads go up each year - the list is endless - insurance, heat and light, petrol you name it.
Let me know what you settle for.
Luv Binah

Hi,
Anyone reading from Ireland??.....I would like to know what average charges are........last year I charged 25 euro per treatment and this year I charge 30 euro......my treatments last around an hour and 15 mins, I believe going rate is 40 euro, which is what we were told to charge by our teacher........but have seen up to 60 euro charged per treatment....I plan to slowly increase my prices each year until I am at the going rate.....but for old clients will not increase prices for them........
I feel as a newly qualified Reflexologist, this is my 2nd year.....I have to compete with more experienced therapists, so the only thing I can offer to make up for my lack of experience is lower prices......gradually as I build up my client base I will be on a par with others.......I have heard it mentioned a few times from other Reflexologists that i am doing wrong in charging less but I do not agree......
Just thought I would throw in a variable.
I hear Donna Air(head) pays £200 for reflexology in London. I wish she came to me. I would only charge £195.
Celebrities eh! suckers!!!!!
Hi ya ******Serendipity*******
It's amazing isn't it - the belief system of money - that someone thinks they are getting a high quality service buy paying hugh sums of money. But as we all know money isn't a reflection on quality!

I apreciate this is a bit of an old thread, but have prices changed since??
just wondering as i'm looking to set up in my own premises.
Hi there,
its a good time to renew this one I think what with the economic situation having changed so much in the last 3 years!
Obviously its all very relevant to area - I work in Central London so I can only realistically compare to others in that area. But I have also been practising for 20 years and experience is also worth bearing in mind when setting your prices.
I charge £60 p.h. in the health club I work in - charges are set by the club but are average for that part of town. I also work as a mobile reflexologist and despite travelling time I actually charge the same or a little less. As I'm not paying rent for a room (in Central London this can be more than £20p.h.) I can actually make about the same per hour when everything averages out.
I remember being told by my tutor way way back not to under sell myself, or my skills, She said we are mostly women in a caring profession so tend to undervalue ourselves. She asked do you think of yourself as valuable a service as a plumber? - well just think of their call out charge alone!
To add to this I regularly check what other therapists and salons in my area are doing, offers wise, website and prices as part of my marketing plan. Its important to know what your competitors are doing, where they are listing/advertising themselves, new treatments they are offering etc just so that you are keeping up to date with your market place. That way you can set your prices accordingly at a price that's comfortable for you. Personally I would never set my prices at the cheapest end as I don't want to be the "99p store" in my area 😉 Tracey
Well looks like I need to get myself sorted.
I've been doing a lady now for 15 years. She has always just stopped me getting rusty and forgetting.
I charge her ............... wait for it.............. £15 .
I suppose I don't mind as shes kept with me for all that time and is now a friend.
Think for my shop I need to review my prices 😮
