Hi, Can I ask if anyone knows whether reflexology can do anything to help with uterine fibroids? I have a client with this condition and apparently they are causing her problems at the moment. She usually has aromatherapy massage, but wants to know whether a reflexology treatment will do anything.
Thanks
Love Melanie x
Hi Melsy,
I'm not proficient in reflexology (I'm sure others will jump in) but I do have a touchpoint reflexology wheel which indicates massaging areas of the pituitary, sex glands, adrenals, liver, thyroid, fallopian tubes, lympathics and solar plexus. Also, fibroid growth is dependent on estrogen ...you may want to read up on xenoestrogens, foreign chemicals in foods that affect hormone function and also known to suppress the immune system. Might be helpful for your client:)
Thank you. That is very helpful. I will study further using that information.
We have to know soooo much about so many different conditions, and this is one that so far I haven't come across! Value your input, thank you.

Hi,
Despite not having had a client present with uterine fibroids, looking at the presenting factors, I would conclude that reflexology could definitely help.
Although apparently a clear cause is not known, the evidence does point to potential genetic factors, hormonal influences and general imbalances. Reflexology, as we know, promotes homeostasis and therefore by treating this lady, there is a fair chance that you could help. Concentrating on the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland to help regulate. the hormones, as well as the obvious reflexes of the ovaries and uterus. I would take a look also at possible stress factors in her life - digging into the possible causes for hormonal imbalances. If she is experiencing irregular or heaving bleeding then perhaps getting her to record her cycle would help you both register whether or not the treatments were having an effect.
Good luck 😀
