I'm hoping that some of you multi therapists can help me.
I saw a new client with MS, who is told me she is a Spiritual healer. She is in regular contact with Angels, hearing voices etc!! and does 'writing'. She said she had a message for me from the spirit when the time was right. Plucked up courage and I asked her what it was on the 2nd visit, but the time still wasnt right!
Anyway I treated her and offered some Reiki at the end which she declined! I was a bit surprised..
The next day I felt absoulutely drained and aching, rather like I have before when training in Reiki and treating someone with MS. I think Reiki had passed from me to her unconciously.
So any tips on how to protect myself from this again, also I'm a bit worried about the nature of her 'contacts', although she has been in touch with the Archangel Michael apparently.
Her condition is variable, the MS responded well to the first 2 treatments, I think she has had a lot of problems with depression and has worked through very negative personal relationships. Her GP is excellent, and very helpful to her
Any help or advice very welcome. I feel slightly out of my depth here.

RE: HELP!! Reflexology, Reiki and Spiritual healing
hi jan,
maybe you are picking up her aches and pains... not yours at all. i'm not very tuned in to this and only noticed it a couple of times, but you need to acknowledge the pains and recognise that they are hers... that should help you. reiki does that sometimes.
with reiki, you shouldnt feel drained, as such, as its not your energy you are using. but i was told to shut down my heart and solar plexus chakras when doing reflexology as those feet of hers, are pointing directly there with all their negativity!
theres also the putting yourself in a pink bubble etc but i have problems doing that, to be honest.
incidentally, i treated a lady with MS recently as a one off massage/ facial. but she has reflex regularly and says she has benefitted well from it. always good to know these things.
RE: HELP!! Reflexology, Reiki and Spiritual healing
Hi Jan,
It would seem as if your Client is stringing you along.
If she has a message for you then she should choose to give it.
She would also seem to have some very deep-seated problems of her own otherwise she would have used her own Spiritual Healing ability to help herself.
As far as I can see there is no problem with combining Reiki and Reflexology. If you have had Reiki Attunements/Empowerments then EVERY time you place your hands on someone they receive Reiki, and so when you give Reflexology your clients are getting Reiki as well - in fact a double dose of treatment.
It is my opinion that you do not require protection from the 'bad' energy you collect from your clients. Reiki Attunements place you under a positive pressure so that, although you may sense the aches, pains and condition of your client, once the treatment session is over AND you consciously break the connection with your client, any feeling that you may have had will go away. I think that you did not break the connection with your client adequately in the incident you describe. Try the dry bathing technique (Ken Yoku) before and after treatment.
Above all - DO NOT WORRY!!!!
Continue to treat her with Reflexology (and Reiki), love and compassion for as long as she chooses to come to you. Forget about her 'message' - if it was very important she would have told you. Remember to break the Reiki connection to her after every treatment.
As always
RE: HELP!! Reflexology, Reiki and Spiritual healing
Thank you for your help Rosie and Paul. I feel a lot better prepared now and will try your recommendations.
Luckily as well another client is a reiki master and she reminded me to ground myself, when I saw her last night.
I really need a refresher and further Reiki courses to get the most from it.
Thanks again
Love
