I have a new client who has been a couple of times. She is new to my area having moved here with her partner's work and so feels as is she has uprooted and left everybody and everything behind her. She used to have reflexology before and so wanted to contine with it in her new home - hence her coming to me.
Anyway, she has a problem with her bladder which is now really affecting her life in general. Basically, she goes for a wee and doesn't feel as if she has emptied her bladder properly and so very shortly aferwards has to go back to the toilet again. At other times, she is weeing when she hasn't really got a full bladder, although she feels as if she is desperate to go. She has been like this for years but in her old town felt quite comfortable as she knew where all the toilets were when she went shopping, at work etc. Now she is in a new place and it has totally thrown her. She is becoming scared to do anything. She didn't get on a plane last week as she was worried about wetting herself - although she has never done this.
She has been to the GP today and he has given her some medication to help alleviate this. She came for a treatment tonight and I basically treated her for stress as she was so emotional. She had obviously been crying quite alot today and she cried during our initial discussion. So I tried to help with emotions and stress.
But can anyone think of anything else that I should be looking into? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really feel for this client. She has obviiously got herself into a cycle which is no fun for her or her partner. Thanks.
RE: bladder problems
Hi there
I am just recovering from a bout of cystitis - only ever had it once before so I am not an expert on this. BUT the antibiotics I was givendidn't seem to help much but what did were glyconutrients. A company called Waterfall d mannose sell a specific kind of glyconutrient - mannose - which has great results with bladder infections etc. Their website is [link= http://www.waterfall-d-mannose.com ]www.waterfall-d-mannose.com[/link] - I really recommend it.
I would also back up your hunch that there is a lot of emotional stress in her system. The water element represents our emotions and bladder problems are often having difficulty letting go of emotions - this is certainly true of what has been happening to me. Louise Hay talks as well about being "pissed off".
I am sure you will be able to help this lady - she has come to you for a reason.
Best wishes
Sara

Hello Bexx - have a look at this.
[link= http://www.healthypages.net/forum/tm.asp?m=324287&mpage=1&key=pelvic%2Cfloor%2Cdysfunction񏊿 ]http://www.healthypages.net/forum/tm.asp?m=324287&mpage=1&key=pelvic%2Cfloor%2Cdysfunction񏊿[/link]
When she's on the loo she will empty her bladder better if she raises her heels, leans forward, and breathes deeply into her diaphragm. The heel raising bit is to do with connective tissue - it works for men as well. The leaning forward and breathing will put more pressure on the bladder.
If she makes no progress her doctor should send her to a specialist. There arephysios around whose entire life is devoted to the pelvic floor, and it is just possible that a small op may be necessary. I have had a couple of clients who have had ligamentous slippages corrected and it has turned their lives around. It's most important that she gets this sorted as her life will be miserable.
Wish her luck from me,
Sharon
RE: bladder problems
Hi there
I've had absolutely crippling boughts of cystitis over the years, and muchresearch has been done on the subject. Bladder problems can be caused by food allergies, there can be a problem with the spine/or a particular vertebrae, it could be a problem with the kidneys, or it could be a long livedSTD such as chlamydia which also exhibits the symptoms you're talking about. Bladder problems are complicated and difficult, and if it doesn't get better I would urge her to ask her doctor for a specialist referral.
Hope this helps!

Poor lady, as well as reflexology I wonder if she'd give Emotional Freedom Technique a go? It sounds as though it's become a huge problem that is seriously impacting on her life. I hope she finds a way through it all.
