I attend a reflexology support group where we share ideas as to best practice. A colleague always puts the clients socks on for them after treatment. I had never thought of doing this, tried it and found that the clients really appreciated that extra bit of care. Does anyone else have a tip to share.
I have radiator in my room and put the client's socks on the rad so they are nice and toasty putting them on for them at the end of the treatment. I also heat my towels to cover the foot I am not working on and alternate them during the treatment.
With my regular clients if they wish I adjust bed to nearly lying down position and give them a wheatbag eyemask so they can drift off during their treatment. Cover them with a big soft fleecy blanket!!
I also tell them to thank themselves for chosing to be here and taking time just for themselves and I find this really relaxes them.

What a nice idea. I have often wondered if I should take their shoes and socks off for them at the start too - does anyone do that?

What a lovely thread. I have a wheatbag teddy that I warm for them to cuddle and cover them with a warm fleecy blanket

Hi there,
I prepare a hot water bottle 30 mins before they arrive and place it where they will be sitting/lying down so that the chair/couch is warmed for them. They then either have the hot water bottle with them for the duration of the treatment or (if they decide they do not want it on them) I sandwich it inbetween their socks/clothes (depending on which treatment they are having). They always seem to appreciate this, and sometimes even ask for it through the summer months!
I agree, it is a great thread, I will be taking on a few of your ideas, thanks everyone x
I also offer to remove and replace socks and shoes at beginning and end of treatments. Some prefer to do it themselves, some like me to do it. If you ask, then you can do whichever they wish.
