Hi there,

Sorry to ask yet another question...!

I've recently started my first case study who suffers from anxiety attacks. Since then I've looked in all my books and none of them seem to mention anxiety and what reflexes to work. There's a lot about stress - would you work similar reflexes to that? I'm not sure if this is right, but would you work say the adrenals, diaphragm, solar plexus areas? Incidentally, her adrenals were super tender during her treatment.

I'm going to look for some breathing exercises to recommend to her for when she feels her anxiety building - is there any other advice that I can offer her?

Many thanks in advance!

Laura

RE: Anxiety attacks.

Hi Laura

I to had a client with anxiety as a case study, I just did a general treatment, with a relaxing massage to finish. The feed back I got from this client was good and that she felt the benefits of the treatment, was more relaxed and I have not given her a treatment in ages so her anxiety must have improved.

hope that helps
Rachel

RE: Anxiety attacks.

Hello Laura, all that sounds good. Great observation on the adrenal reflexes, and I like the recommendation on the breathing. If you want to PM me I've a feeling I've got a nice breathing exercise somewhere too. On a client who is stressed and/or anxious I have a good 'go' on the reflexes of the endocrine system, brain and spine and everything else you've mentioned. I've found you can get some great results when working with people with stress, anxiety, depression and mental illness when using reflexology. Hope you get on OK.
