Hi,
I'm thinking of doing an NVQ Level 3 Massage Course with The Carlton Institute. This course is initially an intensive two day course, followed by case study time etc and then an assessment.
I was wondering if an NVQ 3 is a decent massage qualification to have? I'm fairly new to therapy and am confused about what the difference is between NVQ, VTCT and ITEC etc.
Thanks!
Hiya
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with NVQs. The only thing i'd say, as with any two day course, is there's always so much to learn it's hard to take it all in over two days and you often find you need to clarify points at a later date. Do you get the opportunity to meet up with your teacher again? Do you get further intensive sessions?
Hopefully someone else will be along who knows more about this course.
Good luck with your studies!
hi,
its not got a good reputation within the industry, mainly due to its short training time which cannot adequately prepare a therapist to give them the necessary skillset to work at practitioner level.
NVQ is a type of qualification, National Vocational Qualification
ITEC and VTCT are awarding bodies, ie they issue the certificates
