Hello massage therapists,Im a student of massage therapy and am currently doing my case studies.Would I be correct in saying insomnia can be helped by incorporating more effleurage motions, cutting down on tapotement and percussion. What else could I do to help my client? Im doing a =n evening session tonight to help client wind down.Any suggestions are very gratefully received.

Hi,
Tapotement and percussion movements would stimulate. How about working more on the neck and head? I find my clients really enjoy that and often fall asleep!
Hi Sarahlouise
I did my massage last year and that's what we were told. Plently of effluerage to calm and relax the system. Avoid any percussion as that will invigorate which you really want to avoid here. When you get to the head use light strokes over the face and incorporate any head massage techniques you know into the head. Spend time here if possible.
Hiya
I'd also say that the effleurage should be slower than you normally do.
Hello,
thanks for the advice guys.My client seemed to really relax last night, almost falling aslleep on the couch,so I must have done something right!!! Im still not very confident on doing the movements, but I will get there.
