How can I cleanse amethyst?

Not a crystal expert, but I would run it under the tap while imagining white light pouring through it for about 3 minutes. After carefully drying it, I would sit down comfortably, hold it between the palms of my hands and give it Love, Gratitude and Appreciation. Then I would ask it whether it had a message for me, as I had chosen it specially because it is so beautiful and wait to see what comes up. I might also apologise for removing it from its 'mates'.

Many ways to cleanse crystals - sound (tinshaws, bells, singing bowls), incense, a flame, as well as soaking in seasalt and water. If it really feels bad you can bury it in the earth for a while.

Well, Geoffrey Keyte tells us to hold the crystal in our hands and say "I will and command that this crystal be cleansed".

Personally I find this a little brash! I use Reiki to cleanse all my crystals, and have used it to cleanse and charge amethysts before now. Or you could visualise a white light entering the crystal and removing all negativity.

I bought a new amethyst to go with it. Left both out in the storm.:)

re amethyst cleansing

Hello, I cleansed a large amethyst today by holding in my hands and using reiki. I am newish to crystal therapy too. In the past I once buried all my crystals in the earth to re-energise and always leave them on the window sill to bathe in sun or moonlight. Lightning sounds a good idea.........imagine if it actually hit the crystal. Has this happened to anyone?

The Amethyst's have just come in and they were left in a second downpour today. Luckily the darker ones don't have any fade on them, but the lighter ones have developed yellow & brown spots on them.
I don't mind so much as they aren't the most attractive amethyst pieces I have. So, it has made them more interesting. Perhaps they need more sun. It's also brought out some nice pink flashes in the tips of the amethyst.
I don't think it's the best idea to leave amethyst in the sun, but on this occasion I wanted them to become more interesting. When I bought them, they had small white circles inside them like the rings of a tree.
I am awaiting a angel attunement when time permits and hope it will be an enlightneing experience.

Never had any crystals hit by lightening. I did see a film with Hilary Swank in that she had several stones hit by lightening. I don't know the name.
I would like to find one. It would be interesting.

I am using the spell checker at the top and it is proving to be quite useful.

Hi, I have heard of angel attunements, but don't know a lot about it. Sounds interesting.......does that mean you will be spiritually in attuned to contact them, through meditation or something? Is it connected to Christianity?

Hi Hejog, I need to look into it, it is still a little sketchy the details. I have a manual to read about it all.
I need to ask those questions before venturing further. I am worried about how it will affect my beliefs and if it will colour my perception.

The amethyst I have added to and purchased some crystals online. I don't usually do this but I saw some that were really similar to ones I have and some which are un named and well I like surprises!

Can't recommend the attunements sorry. I paid for the manuals but they aren't something I recommend as they don't link directly to the arch angels but they are to the minor angels instead.
I need to go elsewhere to find out about that.
They were lightworker attunements if it helps.

Cleanse Amethyst

New to the forum but I am a Metaphysical Healer Lic and Certified in California.
Take your crystal and place it in the sun for 8 hours the sun rays will cleanse the crystal. Do not use salt or water as this will damage the crystal.

Then in the eve take some incense and lite a white candle and say these words.

"For the Highest Good of All,
I pray and intend
that this (these) Crystals (Minerals, Gemstones)
Activate, and fill themselves with the Infinite
Love and Light of Spirit.

Amethyst fades in the sun.I don't want to expose my crystal to any damage. I asked a trained Crystal healer and they warned me against doing this. I don't understand why a qualified therapist would tell me to do this unless they wanted me to damage my crystals.It is really bad advice telling people to do this. It fades the crystals and leaves yellow/brown patches.
I saw pictures of gorgeous pieces of amethyst ruined by the sun.

I am remaining with the water method.

For the right solutions to cleansing you must use the intuitive form of blending the ways that u use the gem. I myself got from spirit that you would do well to use water the rain water is the best form of lifting your vibrations to cleanse the crystal because you seem to use this crystal to cleanse your aura, with this in mind you may want to look at my gem oracle... Thank you Gypsee, it is raining today,but I am going to place the amethyst away so, that I am not using it. I feel I need to switch to somethng else. I have had so many things go wrong since purchasing and realised it has happened for years.
I no longer want to risk it and think it might be where it was mined or taken from maybe is could be energtically bad for me to use.
I think sometimes some crystals might not be meant for us maybe it is our star sign or maybe they want and need to be elsewhere.Or just maybe they aren't compatible with us for some reason.Perhaps I did something in a past life and so can't use it.I have no idea all I know is that things go really wrong if take it out with me any piece of amethyst that is.
I just feel too worried to risk anything going wrong so, I need to put them in a box out of the way.
I need to figure out what the colour represents.
