I have quite a selection of crystal and silver pendants...but....does anyone have any suggestions of cleaning the silver.....apart from Silver dip.........I am sure it's ruining the silver??

I seem to remember Kim & Aggy, on the telly, cleaning silver with aluminium foil, so I just googled it. Have a look at www.doityourself.com/stry/silver. It has interesting info about different types of silver and how to clean them.
Well, I have tried the white toothpaste,
a supermarket homebrand at only **17p**
Its brought the silver up nice and shiny, will see how long it stays that way..
Does anyone have any tips for cleaning silver chains - I bought a couple of chains with some Native American silver pendants whilst in the US and they look quite dingy now and need a bit of brightening up.
Is there anything I can just soak them in. I know coca cola does a great job on cleaning up loose coppers.

Just rechecked the site mentioned above and it could just be that soaking in baking soda salt and water will do the trick.
