Thanks Catherine. I need all the positivity I can get as yes I have worked really hard. The only touch on 12 essential oils i.e. basil, bergamot, camomile, eucalyptus, juniper, lavender, lemon, peppermint, rosemary, sandelwood, tea tree and ylang ylang. They focus on what they are used for; particularly good for; properties; warnings; and scent.
Hi Tracy, that's great that they do touch on some of the essential oils, funnily enough a lot of those oils are the ones I use normally for personal use.. I thought they would have given more oils than that.. maybe they give more in the advanced course...

Good evening folks
due to personal circumstances I have been away from my SNHS Aromatherapy and Reflexogy. I am just about to start on the case studies and like others I am a bit confused as to what is actually required. Does anyone have an exaple of one that i could have a look at to give me some guidance? It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Linda
The first thing that you have to do is sort out your consultation form. This is the basis for the case studies. I used my own one but also incorporated what the SNHS provided (Aromatherapy). Also they would have sent you the guidelines to follow for Case Studies. You could incorporate this into a table with your client record card. Its all very easy and then once the treatment has been finished you start to summarise the case study.
Name of client, age, job
What presenting symptoms he has come with
What his lifestyle is i.e. exercise, hobbies etc.
Medical history and any contra-indications
Allergies
How you set up the room.
What oils you used and quantities
What massage techniques you used and length of treatment
Ask the client how he feels throughout the massage and after.
Aftercare advice as required.
I did 3 case studies (with 3 sessions each). So in total 9 sessions. You need to provide very detailed case studies as at the end they require you to provide a Case Study Summary of 2,000 words each (for each case study). So if you did 2, it would be 4,000 or 3, 6,000 words.
You will find that it gets easier after the first one. I am not going to include my case studies as I worked extremely hard on them, but hope that this gives you some sort of idea of what to include.
Anyway hope that this helps somewhat.
Thank you Heaven it was so kind of you to take the time to do this it has been a terrific help to me. No worries about including the case studies as I have my clients ready to go so doubt it would have been the same issues. I was really just confused when reading the posts and the material sent via SNHS as to what was expected.
Many thanks again your advice has been invaluable.

Glad to have helped. I got somewhat confused with some of the questions too e.g case study summary, thought they meant 2,000 words for everything... but the tutor got back and told me after I had cut it all down that they needed detailed case studies.... which of course I had done. So Good luck with it all.
Thanks again Heaven much appreciated. For personal reasons I have been away from my studies for a while so will hopefully be cracking on in the next few weeks.

Hi again everyone. Hope you are all doing ok with your courses... and hi Infinity, of course you can join us here 🙂
Ive just finished Lesson 4 and starting on Lesson 5 now..
How is everyone getting on with their Aromatherapy course?
I've recently got back into mine again and have submitted Part 2 (lessons 4-6). I'm going to start practicing the aroma massage on my mum this week.
My mum and I completed a Basic Aromatherapy evening class at college in September-November, which was great and really helped with my studies. We learned all about 6 essential oils and learned how to do a full body aromatherapy massage. This will come in really handy when doing my SNHS course, so I'm really glad I did it.
