Hi as a muslim id like to share this wonderfull month of ramadan in the muslim callander which is going so well and would answer any question to do with it if anybody wants to ask
Hi!
To start with, why is it "wonderful"?
Venetian
By the way, I meant my question sincerely, asking you to explain it to others. I did not mean to sound harsh or whatever. Like many non-Muslims, I've travelled enough to be in Muslim countries during Ramadan. Of course, we could just look it up on Wikipedia, but it's much nicer to hear the opinion of a real person one can dialogue with. So why is Ramadan "wonderful"?
I was in my very early 20s and in Iran when I added up the days and suddenly realised it was my 22nd birthday! And everywhere was closed. There wasn't any way to celebrate or to invite my friends for a meal.
Also, fasting can be physically healthy. But only if it is literally a water fast over one or more days, to purge the body of toxins. My only experience of Ramadan is that Muslims wait until the sun goes down ---- and then absolutely gorge themselves on all kinds of food, which is not healthy at all.
But there must be more to it, so why is Ramadan "wonderful" to you personally?
V
firstly for me personally ramadan is so wonderfull because in islam ramadan is the month of allah(god)in this month if you repent genuinely he will forgive your sins also in this blessed month if you pray as much as you can it has more weight than any other month in the year also fasting has alot of blessings which no desrespect to non muslims but only a muslim would understand and yes fasting is healthier also i am not that pious but i saw on one of the islam channels that we fast in the month of ramada so that it increases our awareness and patients and my personnal experience confirms that as well im definatelty more appreciative of what allah has given me whn i fast compared to people in the third world country who are starving for god knows how many days and night as for muslims stuffing themselves when they break thier fast at sunset well the younger generations tend to do that but in islam it states that you should not eat till your stomac is full which like you said is definately not healthy but not every muslims obey the religions rules just like other people dnt obey their religions rules i hope i have answered your question to the best of my knowlege. please feel free to ask anymore questions if need be
