Hi ,

For those interested in expanding their knowledge of Phowa

and the practise itself there is a series of talks and a

weekend of practice on this with the teachings led by a

Lama Rinpoche a Bonpo Lama responsible for the Bonpo

monasteries in India.

The information for this can be found on the Glasgow school

of theosophy website near Charing Cross in Glasgow..

This will direct you to the appropriate information.

RE: Phowa talks

Hi,

I try to stay eclectic on religion and must admit never heard of Phowa. Would you be kind and either give a synopsis or just an internet link?

Thanks!

RE: Phowa talks

Rosie,

Sorry. Where was I supposed to be?? :DI will read the thread later and thanks, I guess it is all I need. I was travelling and not in touch.

I will read with interest.

TBHI think I am familiar with most styles of meditation, for example, but like going again to see who is there, which I'll be doing again soon re Vipassana meditation - there's a new one near me - not new but the founders have left to be clear. Now, it is not really notmy thing, Vipassana, but they all over the phone sound a bit lost, so I figured it would not be a bad thing to just go and meet up in 2 weeks...

P.S. Just to defend myself LOL! - I rarely "surf" HP so threads are often going to just pass me by!

Hi David,

Yes, meditation can be extremely powerful, both to mind and body. I enjoy all types of meditations, but I cannot tolerate the 'ohm' chant. Its vibrations have a negative effect upon me and I end up retching.

Have you experienced this with a meditation?

Love,
Patsy.
