Hello, since it's dharma day, and 2 weeks since the london bombings, I'm doing a powa for the vicitims who died 2 weeks ago this evening.
No particular time - just later on this evening
I'd like to leave an open invertation here in case anyone else would like to do the same

RE: Dharma Day Powa
Hello, sorry didn't reply last night, only saw this just now
The basics of the powa for another following death is as follows:
visualise the scene that the incident happened
visualise the buddha or a bright light appearing there/above it
visualise rays of light reaching out from the buddha/light to the deceased
visualise the pain, suffering and confusion being replaced by peace and understanding
then visualise them joining the buddha/light and leaving with it
you don't need to be a buddhist to do it (as visualising light works with most beliefs) and I think it's a nice gesture to make
I tend to do it 7 and 14 days after the event has occured
If anyone wants to know more about this, there is a more detailed section on this in the tibetan book of living and dying
RE: Dharma Day Powa
