Am arranging a surprise long weekend or 1 week max. for my partner and I and I'd like us to escape the city and head to the countryside.
Thing is we would need to have something to do otherwise we'll get a bit board, we're city folk. I've not lived in the UK for 10 years and before that lived in London so not familiar with much outside of the cities.
Does anyone know of any working farms in the Shropshire area? I'd like to have the balance of helping out on a working farm and the option for some nice hikes in the beautiful countryside. Not to mention traditional breakfast and lovely homegrown food.

What about this? http://www.wwoof.org.uk/ We were 'woofers' back in the 80's and had many fantastic weekends in stunning locations, really enjoying ourselves, but working at the same time! We didn't need long hikes after a day planting willows!!
