Hi folks,

For quite a while now I've been feeling really quite drawn to going on a package tour in and around Tibet and visiting the many buddhist monasteries and temples. I was wondering if anyone has ever been there? Was it good? Did you enjoy it?

Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks x

I've not been Jill but I know someone who has visited Mount Kailash - not on a package tour though. Just by the by, have you not noticed that there's protests and bloody repression going on in Tibet right now? I really don't think it would be safe to visit at the minute. Also, I wonder if you would feel OK visiting a country where the Tibetan people are under the Chinese heel? I know the Dalai Lama has said that he wants people to visit Tibet in order to talk to the Tibetans and tell them that the world has not forgotten them but, as with Burma, I wouldn't want to give my money to the occupying government.

xxx

The Foreign Office are warning against travelling to Tibet at present.

See this from today's Telegraph:

Hi JD Holistic

There have been annual trips to Tibet with Inti a Peruvian shaman he is a very spiritual and special guide. Tibet (Mount Kailash) is the Crown Centre of the World according to Inti. His link is www.intishaman.com He also does other trips to wonderful sites. It's not just a sight seeing thing either as Inti will take you on a wonderful journey of inner development - and raising consciousness. You will have to look at his website to see whether under the present unrest he will be journeying to Tibet this year.

I posted yesterday on the plight of the Tibetan monks see post and attachment https://www.healthypages.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=52327
I am glad you have raised the issue, because it is one that deeply resonates with me and has done for the past 40 years.

Again I ask for people to hold those involved in the current violence in Tibet in the light.

Luv Binah

Hmmm...well I hadnt heard of the recent unrest there, just goes to show how often I read newspapers and watch the TV news!!! Its a shame that this is all going on over there isnt it? Oh well, Im not meant to go this year then, perhaps next all being well.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Binah, this inti shaman guy sounds very interesting, I'll look him up on his sight later. I love anything that involves a spiritual element. I have also got an interest in shamans too. Thanks for that x

I might think about going to Thailand instead this year.
