I'm a hypnotherapist with centres in Manchester, Glossop and Sheffield. I currently have my house up for sale but a few years ago, I landscaped my back garden in a way that doesn't suit most people's taste (there is now no lawn at all!!!! I hate gardening!).
Anyway, to make the house more saleable, I've started changing the garden, the pond has gone (I offered the fish on freecycle so don't worry about them!) but as someone who hates gardening I would be willing to swap hypnotherapy treatments for someone's time to fix my garden which would predominantly be turfing.
My normal rate is £60.00 per hour and I would be willing to offer 12 sessions to someone to turf my back garden (at that many sessions, I would expect you to supply the turf though) and I am willing to split the sessions between friends and family if you don't need all 12. The area I want turfing isn't huge as I want to keep the patios, borders, beds etc so it's only about 45 sqM of turf. Maybe this will give you some idea of how much I hate gardening! Any takers? I would also be willing to do the swap with someone who has another idea for the garden layout, just as long as I don't have to do it!
It's worth a try anyway!
Why don't you add a picture of how your garden is at the moment? It might help with new ideas for it. Which area is the house in?
Oh duh! The house is in Glossop (about half way between Manchester & Sheffield).
Just a quick thought Bannick,
There are half whiskey Barrels on sale at Focus at the moment, about £16.00/£20.00 each. A few of those planted with a bag of multi purpose compost, and a few trays of the summer bedding thats are in all the garden centres, perhaps a fuschia or tall centre plant, would look an instant eyeful.
They are large, would be filled up quickly, and possibly even a non gardener wouldnt be hard pressed to give it a can of water now and again ;).
If you have a paved garden at the moment it would look like an intentional garden, with impact. 😎
I was in Glossop on Sunday!
Get some piccies on here so we can maybe help with the layout.
i wouldn't necessarily rule out the idea of not having a lawn. If it has been landscaped then it will have been well thought out and should compliment the house. Like Fleur says, lots of pots would add colour and some impact especially large ones with things like bamboo in them.
We definitely need some photos then i'm sure we can help.
