Hello there,

I'm trying to do some notes that we were told to do in the Yellow Book. I'm working with a friend who is also doing the Swedish Body Massage course.

Referal Data from Other Sources is Noted - Neither of us are really sure what this means.

From my understanding I've written that if Medical Advice was sought before treatment, that we should follow the advice the Physician has given and make a note of this on the consultation form?

I would really appreciate anyone's help please. Our portfolios are due on Thursday and we have to finish that yellow book by then too. So confusing!!!

THANK YOU!!

Hi Piper78

I think the above should be okay - I would also put that consent letter from GP was provided to ensure that the client could have a treatment incase of any contraindications. Might mean the same thing, but just incase Id put it down as you are the one providing the treatment and the GP can only provide consent and not tell you how to do your treatment, unless certain areas have contraindications, in which case you should avoid the area.

Hope this helps, and doesnt confuse you.

Let me know if you need anything else - I did my Swedish Massage course and still have some notes on it.

Thank you so much for that, at least I feel a bit more confident about my answer.

I think I've almost completed everything in my portfolio.

Just a quick question though, if you get a chance. On one of the assignments they ask:

6. How many types of nerves are there in the human body and name them.

I just wrote the following?

Central Nervous System – The main control system
- Brain
- Cerebrum
- Thalamus
- Hypothalamus
- Pituitary Gland
- Pineal Gland
- Cerebellum
- Spinal Cord

Peripheral Nervous System

- 31 Pairs of Spinal Nerves
- 8 Cervical
- 12 Thoracic
- 5 Lumbar
- 5 Sacral
- 1 Coccygeal Spinal Nerve

- 12 Pairs of Cranial Nerves
- Olfactory
- Optic
- Oculomotor
- Trochlear
- Trigemenal

Or is there a more simple answer to this??
