What is the definition of chiropractic treatment?
A. diagnosis and treatment of mechanical problems in the nerves and spinal column
B. diagnosis and treatment of mechanical problems in the whole of the muscular system
C.diagnosis and treatment of mechanical problems in the skeletal system
D.diagnosis and treatment of mechanical problems in musculo-skeletal system
Any help with this answer would be much appreciated,As itec answers can sometimes be tricky!! I would have chosen A but just not sure.:)
Have you done a websearch for 'chiropractic'? If you're not sure about A, which one could it be?
Hi,
yes i did do a web search . Our tutor thinks it s C But after class discussion she s not so sure either!! From the Itec book it 's not so clear on what they think the definition is.Just thought somebody else could shed some light on it for me.:)
I actually got this question in my exam haha and I can't actually remember what answer I gave!
but looking at it in an ITEC kind of way, I believe that the answer is C, as although A is true, Chiropractor's work on the spine and the spinal nerves, therefore I think A is a bit too vague.
ITEC are famous for their 'trick' questions, and using very similar answers.
hope this helps a little bit!

Hi Mollywhoppy (great name)
I would say D.
Dear Mrs Tucker in her 2001 Massage book states "Chiropractic - A chiropractor manipulates the joints of the body, specifically the spine, in order to relieve pain. It works on the basis that pain is often caused by a nerve which is not functioning properly and thus the spine, which the central nervous system runs, is the focus of the therapy. It is especially useful for lower back and neck pain as well as headaches."
I think the last sentence give the answer ITEC would expect any of these conditions could be musculo-skeletal.
Hope I haven't added to the confusion:confused:
Good luck
