I have just received my VTCT Diploma in IHM.
Has anyone any pointers regarding starting up treatments from home and where I can get insurance that is not too expensive.
I also plan to carry out eyelash and eyebrow shaping and tinting and make-up, so would also need insurance for these treatments
I also attended a one day course at Sally's Hair and Beauty for Warm Waxing and received a certificate for this. Does anyone know whether this Certificate will be recognised by any insurers.
Any help anyone can give would be appreciated.

I personally use Towergate (SMG) for my insurance for Reiki, Freeway-CER and EFT. They cover loads of different therapies. The best thing to do is to give them a call and speak to them even if you can't see what you're looking for on their website. I couldn't find EFT on there when I first got my insurance and that's because it's covered by "Non-invasive Meridian Therapies".

There's other insurance companies out there too, and if you're a member of a professional body for your particular skills, then it's worth asking if they also provide any insurance as usually they will do discounts for their own members.

I can recommend Professional Beauty Direct for insurance cover. £44.50 for two million pound cover for the year,they cover a very very wide range of therapies,I have just renewed and it stayed the same.
SMG put my insurance up by £25 the second year I was with them, I hadn't made any claims, they charged me £75my firstyear .

If you're talking about last year, all the insurance companies put up their premiums because of certain changes in the law. Sounds like you managed to find one at a good price though.

I have no advice regarding insurance I'm afraid! Just wanted to offer my congratulations on passing!
How did you find the course? I'm currently doing a VTCT Body Massage course and am thinking of doing IHM sometime in the future.
