Hi
I'm working through a home-study course on Aromatherapy and one of the questions I've come across I can't seem to find an answer for. Hopefully someone will be able to help, here's goes:
Does the mind use the brain, or does the brain use the mind?
I think the brain uses the mind, what do you think?
Thanks
Allie
RE: Aromatherapy / Mind Question
Hiya,
Is this a course from SNHS? The question rings a bell, so I'll have a look through my papers and see what I can find.
Cheers

RE: Aromatherapy / Mind Question
Hi,
Yep, found that I had a similar question from an on-line course I did with SNHS. I sent back the answer below and it was an acceptable answer for them.
"Whether the mind uses the brain or the brain uses the mind is a question where neither answer is truly correct, it's a subject open to much research and speculation. As therapists, a useful model is to liken the brain to a computer and the mind to a computer operator. The therapist could then be likened to a computer programmer. It's important to remember it is only a model, it is not necessarily literally true."
Hope this helps!
