Is there anyone who can advise me on how to answer the question when asked to
"make a brief review of ..."
whether it is the same as
"write a review of ..."
My thoughts are that the 1st one is requesting an overview of the subject, not necessarily with criticism and the 2nd one is a critical review with arguments for and against.
This has to be in by Monday, so I can't ask my tutors! So any helpful suggestions please 😀
Thanks so much

A brief review would be like an executive summary, taking no more that a paragraph. Whereas a review is like an essay/white paper.
Myarka.
Thanks Myarka
It is in fact an essay requested, to cover 6 months study, hence the word 'brief' - I was wondering more whether it should be just an overview or a crititical review as one would of a book or a play with opinions and arguments.
I'm inclined towards the former as I think the examiner wants to know what we have learned, but could be very wrong!

Just a suggestion but if you start with outlining the objectives of the course and then briefly relate how well (or not) you think you have achieved against these during the six months and maybe round off with some suggestions on what would have improved it for you.
Good luck
Maria
Thanks Maria - I was heading in that direction. You can't cover everything one has learned in 6 months in detail, so an outline is all I'm achieving at the moment.
Must have a break - I'll take the dogs for a walk - at least its stopped raining! May clear the head a bit 😀
